brown sugar

Directions:
Combine flour with salt; coat chicken thouroughly. Brown chicken pieces in oil and drain. Stir together lemonade, sugar, ketchup and vinegar. Place chicken in crockpot and pour lemonade mixture over it. Cook on high 3 to 4 hours.
Drain liquid into saucepan; add cornstarch and boil till reduced. Pour gravy back over chicken; serve over rice.

I like to cook some rice to go with this chicken, but there are some additional accompaniments that you can do.
Blanched broccoli and cauliflower go delicious with this dish. If you don't like your vegetables blanched, then you can slow cook them in with the sauce and chicken.
An alternative to rice is to cook some noodles instead. For example, rice noodles or Hokkien will match nicely with the chicken and lemon sauce.
All the ingredients that you will need for this recipe are listed below.
1kg (2.2 lb) chicken thigh
2 tsp garlic, crushed
½ tsp oregano
1 tsp parsley
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp lemon zest
3 Tbsp lemon juice
250ml (8.4 fl oz) chicken stock
125ml (4.2 fl oz) white wine
Thickener
2 Tbsp cornstarch
2 Tbsp water
There are some slight changes that you can make to the sauce ingredients. Below are a couple of ideas on what you can do.
You can add hoisin or soy sauce if you want a little more flavor in the sauce. However, you might start to lose a bit of lemon flavor.
For a creamy sauce, you can add some cream into the slow cooker. I recommend adding it towards the end and thickening it using a cornstarch mixture.

Here's a healthy, effortless recipe for a whole chicken, slow-cooked in the crockpot with lemons, garlic, and herbs until it's juicy and full of zesty flavor.
Slow Cooker Lemon Pepper Chicken
SLOW COOKER LEMON PEPPER CHICKEN
This is one of my first recipes on my blog that I had time to make a video of. The slow cooking makes the chicken tender and with the help of the oven broiler the skin is browned. I hope you enjoy this recipe!
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup lemon juice about 1 very large lemon
3 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove minced
½ tsp. dried oregano
½ tsp. sea salt
¼ tsp. pepper
2.5 lbs. chicken thighs bone-in, skin left on- just enough thighs to cover the bottom of the slow cooker.
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
5-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add the lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper to a 5-quart or larger slow cooker and stir. Add the chicken thighs into the sauce one at a time skin down and swish around in the sauce, then flip the thigh skin up, do this with all the thighs. (There will be just enough sauce to coat the chicken)
Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours.
After cooking time is done, preheat the oven to broil (500 degrees).
Cover a baking sheet with foil. Using tongs remove the chicken thighs from the slow cooker onto the baking sheet.
Place the chicken into the oven on top rack (My top rack was 2 levels down). Broil the chicken thighs for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them, so they won't burn.
If you want to use the sauce from the slow cooker (it's fantastic!) Blot the sauce with a paper towel to remove the grease.
