How To Make A Delicious Cholent For Shabbes | Cooking Lesson with Danny Blueberry
Hi Everyone,
Here is my personal recipe and step by step guide to preparing a sensationally delicious Cholent.
For those of you who do not know what a Cholent is, this is a traditional Ashkenazi Jewish food that is prepared in a Crock Pot on Friday nights before the Sabbath starts (before sundown) and is slow cooked through the night and then served for Saturday lunch after synagogue service.
The reason this dish exists is that orthodox jews are not permitted to turn on stoves or ovens on the Sabbath, therefor, since this dish was started before Sabbath, it is really the only way to get a hot meal on Saturdays.
It is also really really delicious and full of wholesome ingredients.

Delicious and Easy CHOLENT (Jewish Meat Stew) | 5 MINUTE PREP! | Slow Cooker Recipe
This video will show you - How to make CHOLENT!! This cholent is delicious and super easy to make! We enjoy having it for our Shabbat lunch during the winter months :)

???? INGREDIENTS ????
1 kg meat (people love meat, so extra is usually a great idea :) (make sure marbleized)
1 cup of dry barley (white, small pearls)
2 onions - cut into chunks
2 potatoes - cut into chunks (We don't like them in the cholent, also it freezes beautifully without potatoes)

❤️Spices❤️
2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoon sweet paprika

Mr. Firefly’s Cholent recipe

Deli Roll ????
Thaw out one sheet of puff pastry. Spread a layer of dijon mustard over one side. Add a layer or two of deli meat such as Turkey or pastrami. Roll the dough over itself into a roll. Place seam side down. Brush sweet and sour sauce on top. Bake at 350 for anoit 40 minutes. Serve room temperature or warm. Enjoy!

Cholent ????
Chop 2 onions and sauté with some avocado or olive oil until cooked. Add onions to crock pot. Peel 4 medium potatoes and add to crock pot. Add one cup of brown rice, 2 tbsp cumin, 2 tbsp coriander, 3 tbsp paprika, and 3 tablespoons salt. Add water until everything is covered, about 12 cups. Stir. Add meat (I used boiled chuck roast, but any red meat will do. I like to wear or boil first. Flanken is a fabulous and traditional choice). Set on low overnight. Enjoy! Optional: add eggs to cook along with your Cholent. Beans or chickpeas are another great addition (soak first if using dry). Enjoy!

Olive Dip ????
Add one jar of olives (drained) and 1/2 cup Mayonnaise to a blender and blend well. Enjoy!
