How To make Chapati (Phulka)
1 c Whole wheat flour (or 1/3
White + 2/3 wh. 1/2 c Water
1. Put flour in a large bowl with half the water
2. Blend the two together until it holds.
3. Beat and knead well until it forms a compact ball.
4. Knead dough into it is smooth and elastic.
5. Set aside for 30 minutes.
6. Knead and divide dough into 4 to 6 parts
7. Roll each ball into a tortilla like flat, about 1/8" thick.
8. heat an ungreased skillet.
9. Put phulka on it and let cook for about 1 minute.
10. Turn and cook the second side for 2/3 minute till small bubbles form.
11. Turn again and cook the first side pressed lightly with a towel.
It should puff. Serve warm (maybe slightly buttered). Note: As the rolled out chappatis will dry out if they are left stand while cooking other, it is advantageous to roll them out individually before cooking them. At step 9, the top should just start to look dry and small bubbles to form. Recipe By : Somesh Rao

These whole wheat flour rotis are called phulkas because they are supposed to puff up when you cook. How many of these super light phulkas can you eat in one go?

Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
Salt to taste
Method
1. Take whole wheat flour in a bowl, add salt and make a well in the centre. Add ½ cup water and knead to a soft dough. Cover with a damp muslin cloth and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
2. Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each portion into balls. Dust the worktop and the dough ball with flour and roll out into a thin disc.
3. Heat a non-stick tawa, place the disc on it. Cook the discs on both sides slightly on the tawa and then put on direct flame till well puffed.
4. Arrange the phulkas on a serving plate and drizzle ghee on top. Serve hot.

Today, in this video you will know how to make Phulka at home. many of you think what is the different between phulka and roti. method of preparation is same, phulka is same like chapati made from wheat flour, rolled as same as chapati, just few seconds cooked on the pan and rest cooked directley on heat. some people make phulka smaller than chapati, and cook one side on pan and cook the other side directly on heat. it will be puffy and soft. people call it different names ans make it in a different ways. try this out simple recipe ans share your feedbacks in comments below

3. மாவு மெதுவானதும், ஒரு ஈரத்துணியால் மூடி 30 நிமிடம் ஊறவிடவும்.
4. 30 நிமிடத்திற்கு பிறகு மீண்டும் 2 நிமிடம் பிசைந்து கொள்ளவும். பின்பு மாவை சிறு
சிறு உருண்டைகளாக உருட்டி கொள்ளவும்.
5. சப்பாத்தி கட்டையில் சிறிது மாவை தூவி உருட்டிய மாவை வைத்து அழுத்தி
தட்டையாக்கி, பிறகு தேய்க்கவும்.
6. பின்பு தோசைக்கல்லை வைத்து கல் சூடானது அதில் தேய்த்த மாவை போட்டு சிறிது
நேரம் வேகவிடவும்.
7. மாவின் மேல்பக்கம், சிறு சிறு முட்டைகள் வர ஆரம்பித்ததும். அடுத்த பக்கம்
திருப்பிப்போடவும்.
8. பிறகு கல்லில் இருந்து எடுத்து நேராக அடுப்பில் சிறுது நேரம் வேகவைத்த பக்கம், கீழ்
பக்கம் இருக்குமாறு வைக்கவும். மாவு உப்பிவந்ததும் அதை திருப்பு போட்டு உடனே
எடுத்து கொஞ்சம் நெய் அல்லது வெண்ணை தேய்த்து புல்காவை சூடாக பரிமாறவும்.
