Thanksgiving just doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving without my family’s Apple Pie recipe. We make it every year – it’s a classic with a twist and consistently turns out beautifully. I made a video with @ThermoWorks breaking down the basics to successful pie baking during the holidays and share the secret ingredient for my family’s famous Apple Pie. I also share my best tips for getting a flaky + flavorful crust and pie filling that is never runny. (hint: it has everything to do with temperature!)

How to Make Apple Pie with an Almond Base | Food | Great Home Ideas
Winter is apple pie season and Fast Ed’s celebrating with what has to be the greatest apple tart of all time! Made with shortcrust pastry and a delicious almond base, this dessert looks super elegant but is a cinch to put together.
Caramelized Almond Tart
Portuguese Version -
We continue our Christmas special with an Almond tart that is possibly one of our favorite sweets. The combination of crunchy almonds, wrapped in an irresistible caramel is simply to eat and cry for more. This sweet temptation will seduce even those who do not like almonds...

Almond tart
For the base:
❈ 200g flour
❈ 100g butter at room temperature
❈ 100g of sugar
❈ 5g baking powder
❈ 1 egg
► Beat the sugar with the butter;
► Add the egg and beat again;
►Sift the flour to the mixture, add the baking powder and combine until a homogeneous mixture forms;
► Bake in a preheated oven at 180° C for about 12 minutes.
For the filling:
❈ 100g slivered almonds
❈ 125g butter
❈ 100g of sugar
❈ 45mL of milk
► Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to the heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is golden (it took about 10 minutes on our stove);
► Spread the filling immediately on the pre-cooked base and return to the oven at 180ºC for approximately 12 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and caramelized.

Ultimate Guide To Homemade Caramel Apples

✅Ingredients
Caramel:
• 1 cup unsalted butter
• 1 (14 ounce can) sweetened condensed milk
• 1 cup corn syrup
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• ¼ teaspoon salt
Apples:
• 8-10 whole apples, Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honey Crisp
✅Instructions
Homemade Caramel:
1️⃣ Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, pour in sweetened condensed milk, corn syrup, and brown sugar.
2️⃣ Use a rubber spatula to stir the mixture constantly over medium heat until it starts to simmer, scraping the sides and bottom regularly.
3️⃣ Once simmering, continue at a constant simmer, stirring constantly until caramel reaches the softball stage of 235- 240 F, with higher elevations using the lower temperature range, and lower elevations using the upper end of the range.
4️⃣ At the soft-ball stage, immediately remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt. May leave caramel in this pot or transfer to a small crock pot to help it stay warm as you dip apples.
Dipping Instructions:
1️⃣ Clean apples thoroughly. Use warm water and scrub to make sure all excess wax coating is removed.
2️⃣ Make sure apples are dry and at room temperature.
3️⃣ Push the skewers into the top of the apple where the stem used to be. Make sure the stick is on tight.
4️⃣ Gently press the apple into the pot of warm caramel and use a spoon to ladle the caramel around the apple so that the apple is evenly coated.
5️⃣ Let any excess caramel drip back into the pot and use a spoon to get any excess off the apple. Tip the apple upside down while the caramel continues to set for a few moments.
6️⃣ Place the caramel dipped apples on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
Toppings:
1️⃣ Press in larger toppings while the caramel is still warm.
2️⃣ If double-dipping the caramel apples into chocolate, let the apple first cool completely.
3️⃣ Melt chocolate in microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between each session. Dip, scrape excess, and flip apple upside down until set.

Today I bake a simple cake with apples. This quick apple cake is soft, tender and prepared in 10 minutes! When I have apples and want to have a delicious apple cake, I like to make this very quick and simple recipe. Easy and delicious! Have fun!
The main ingredient: a lot of love❤️
*** The recipe: (baking pan size: 20cm / 8 inches)
2 / eggs
65g / granulated sugar (4+1/2 tablespoons)
8g / vanilla sugar ( 1/2 tablespoon)
A pinch of salt
Mix well
100ml / milk (1/2cup - 1 tablespoons )
40ml / vegetable oil ( 3 tablespoons)
80g / all-purpose flour (1/2 cup)
10g / baking powder ( 1,5 tablespoons)
Mix well
1 teaspoon / orange zest
3-4 / sweet apples
Pour into the batter and mix well!
Bake in the preheated oven at 180 ° C / (356 ° F) for 50-55 minutes!
