How To make Butternut Apple Casserole
1 butternut squash
peeled,seeded,chunkd
3 apples :
cored,peeled, sliced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon -- ground
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 cup apple juice
Preheat Oven to 350 DegreesF. Combine squash and apples with lemon juice and cinnamon. Place squash-apple mixture in a one quart casserole and sprinkle with brown sugar. Pour apple juice over mixture, and cover casserole. Bake for one hour, or until squash is fork tender.

Holiday Side Dishes # 1 Baked Butternut Squash and Apples
Ingredients
2 Tbls butter or margarine
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
5 cups butternut squash peeled and cut into 1/2 cubes
2 granny smith apples peeled and cut into 1/2 cubes
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tbls balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup chopped pecans
oven 375
place butter into a glass 9x13 pan and place in oven to melt
When melted add cinnamon, nutmeg and squash and stir to coat.
Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile chop apples and add maple syrup and vinegar.
After 20 minutes remove squash and add apples
cover and cook additional 10 minutes.
Uncover and cook until desired doneness of squash
Just before serving sprinkle with chopped pecans

Ingredients:
2 lbs butternut squash; 1 can apple pie filling; 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice; 1/2 tsp nutmeg; 1 tsp salt; 1 tbsp butter
Peel squash and cut into 1 inch cubes and place in a greased baking dish, top with apple pie filling. Combine pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, and salt; sprinkle on apple pie filling and dot with butter. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until squash is tender.
