How To make Blueberry Jam
MAKES 3 LB:
2 lb Blaeberries
1/2 lb Rhubarb
2 lb Preserving sugar
(Blaeberries: AKAs bilberries, whortleberries) Wash, trim and roughly chop the rhubarb, put it into a pan and cook gently until it starts to soften. Stir in the sugar and when it has dissolved add the blaeberries and bring the jam to the boil. Boil it rapidly for up to 20 minutes to setting point. Cool slightly then pour into clean warm jars, cover, label and store. (Test for setting point: test the jam by placing a spoonful on a plate, letting it cool and then pushing the surface with your finger: if it wrinkles the jam is ready) From: Janet Warren, A feast of Scotland, Lomond Books, 1990, ISBN 1-85051-112-8

Blueberry Jam No Pectin
6 cups fresh blueberries
3 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
Makes about 5 jelly jars(8oz)
Blueberry jam ????
Blueberry Jam
Ingredients
- 1kg (2.2 lbs) blueberries (I used 2kg [4.4 lbs])
- 200g (7 oz) sugar
- 60ml (2 fl oz) apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp fennel pollen (star anise also works great)
Method
1. Wash the berries well and then drain. Place the berries into a bowl with the sugar and mix well. Cover with a tea towel and leave at room temperature for 3-4 hours.
2. Next, place the berries and any liquid that has come off into a large pot. Over medium-high heat, bring to a simmer, then turn the temperature down to medium-low and cook until it thickens. This will take about 2 hours. Once you’re at this stage, you can add the fennel pollen (if using star anise or cinnamon, place them in at around the one-hour mark).
3. Sterilise your jam jars by boiling them in water for 5 to 10 minutes. Pour the hot jam into the jars and place a lid on. Let them cool to room temperature before you place them in the fridge.
4. The jam will last in your fridge for up to 6 months unopened and 1 month once opened.

Canning Blueberry Jam - How to Make Delicious Preserves from Fresh Blueberries
It's blueberry time in the GLP kitchen! Today we're making a pot of amazing blueberry jam from several pounds of fresh Michigan blueberries.
This recipe is simple and easy to can, with just a few ingredients including just a hint of cinnamon. So let's jam!
----------------------------
Materials used in this video:
2Lb Bag of Fruit Pectin Powder
Hot Water Bath Canner (7 quart jars or 9 pint jars)
Canning Tools Set (6-piece tool kit)
----------------------------
Here's the basic recipe:
This batch yields between 5 and 6 pints (or between 10 and 12 half-pints)
4 lbs fresh blueberries
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
5 cups sugar
8 tablespoons pectin (powder)
Put blueberries in pot with lemon juice and water. Start heating for a couple minutes on high heat to let the berries begin to soften. Then mash thoroughly with a potato masher. Add sugar and cinnamon. Heat a couple more minutes and then stir in pectin. Keep heating, and bring to full rolling boil for 1-2 minutes. Turn off heat. If there is an excess of foam on top, skim most of it off and discard. Then can it right away. 1/2 headspace for pints, 1/4 headspace for half-pints. Process for 10 minutes (for pints and half pints).

Learn how to make blueberry jam from scratch with this easy recipe. Also learn how to sterilize and seal a jar of jam to store.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Blueberries (340g)
1/4 Cup Water (60ml)
1 Cup Sugar (190g)
Tools:
Glass Mason Jars
Directions:
1. Place berries in a saucepan and mash most of them. Add water and heat over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook stirring occasionally until berries are soft and crushed. Once the jam is cooking at a rolling boil, stir in the sugar. Lower heat to medium-low and continue cooking at a boil stirring constantly. Cook for 20 minutes or until the jam thickens and darkens in color.
2. To test for doneness, place a bit of jam on a chilled plate and freeze for 5 minutes. Gently press the jam, it should wrinkle on top.
3. Fill jars with jam and seal them.
| Makes about 10oz. of Jam
How to Sterilize and Seal Jars:
1. Place the lids of washed jars in hot water(not boiling). Place the jars in a pot of boiling water and boil for 5 minutes. Remove jars and lids from water and place on a clean cloth to dry.
2. Once the jars have been filled with jam, close with the lids tightly, and place into boiling water. Boil for 10 minutes.
*Sealed jars can be stored at room temperature. If opened or not sealed, jams should be stored in the refrigerator.
