Black Cat Cupcakes - Fun Halloween Treats
Dress up your cupcakes this Halloween by topping them with Peppermint Patty cats. Each adorably cute cat is holding white chocolate fish bones in it's M&M candy paws.
Ingredients 125g butter 260g self-raising flour 165g caster sugar ½ teaspoon baking powder 2 eggs, lightly beaten (in a small bowl) 2 teaspoon vanilla extract 125ml milk
Method 1.Preheat oven to 160°C . Line 12 x ½-cup-capacity (125ml) muffin tins with paper cupcake cases. 2.Place the butter in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring with a spatula, until melted. 3.Place the flour, sugar and baking powder in a big bowl and, using a whisk, mix to combine. Add the melted butter, the eggs, vanilla and milk and whisk until well combined and smooth. 4.Spoon the mixture into the prepared tins. Bake for 20 minutes or until cooked when tested with a skewer. Wearing oven gloves, carefully remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow to cool in the tins for 5 minutes. Move onto wire racks to cool completely, before spreading with your favourite icing. Happy Halloween! This week Melinda’s in the kitchen making Black Cat Cupcakes from the Children’s Parties section of the Betty Crocker Recipe Card library. These cupcakes are part of Betty’s suggestions for how to throw a kid’s halloween party, so I’m going to do just that! We’ll have cupcakes, candy, and crafts, just like the elementary school parties we used to have.
These cupcakes feature black licorice gumdrops cut up and re-assembled into a cat-like shape, and homemade fluffy frosting. Easy, delicious, and cute!
