How To make Bizcochos
COOKIES:
1/2 c Lard (NO SUBSTITUTION!)
1/4 c Sugar
2 tb Sweet sheery, such as
- Harvey's Bristol Cream 2 tb Fresh orange juice
1 Egg yolk
3/4 c Unbleached all-purpose flour
COATING:
1/2 c Sugar
1/2 ts Ground cinnamon
1/4 ts Ground cloves
These are a traditional Mexican cookie and must be made with lard to have the right consistency. So, eat a lot of oat bran the next day...don't forgo one of the best cookies you will ever, ever eat. Position a rack in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and preheat the oven to 350F. In a mixer, whip the lard until it is light and creamy. Beat in the sugar, sherry, and orange juice. Beat in the egg yolk and then the flour. Roll the dough out between layers of waxed paper to a thickness of 1/2-inch. Cut out cookies in whatever shapes you wish, transferring them
to ungreased baking sheets. Bake them 12 to 15 minutes, exchanging the position of the sheets on the racks from top to bottom and from front to back at the halfway point, until the cookies are crisp and lightly colored. For the coating, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and cloves in a wide shallow dish (like a pie plate). Carefully dredge the cookies in the spiced sugar while they are warm. Cool completely on a rack. Store at room temperature in airtight tins.

I M P O R T A N T ⚠️
Make sure the butter is at room temperature
Tip!!! Allow the cookies to cool down for 10 minutes before coating with powder sugar
If you think its too much sugar, add 1/2 cup only
PRO TIP good but not necessary- refrigate for 20 minutes before baking
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes
Ingredients: 16 cookies (2 tbsp each) double recipe if needed ????

Ingredients:
1 cp lard
¾ cp sugar
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
⅓ cup orange juice
3 tsp orange zest
2 tsp anise crushed
3 cps all purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
*½ cup sugar and 4tsp cinnamon to coat cookies when done
Soften lard with hands or mixer combine with sugar, vanilla extract, and egg. Separately juice and zest oranges, add into lard mixture. In a separate bowl add in flour, baking powder, and anise. Add flour mixture to the lard in small increment carefully not to overmix your dough. Once all added place dough onto a floured surface and roll out into a ¼ sheet to shape into cookies. Place cookies into a 350 degree oven for 12 minutes, recipe yields about two dozen. Once cookies are done, let them cool and then coat them in the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Enjoy.

Biscochos
1 lb de Manteca
2 huevos
2 tsp royal
1 taza de azucar
1 tbsp de vainilla
2 tbsp de leche condensada (opcional)
1/4 tsp de sal
1/4 tsp de canela
Harina la necesaria (aqui yo puse 2 libras y me sobro)
Precalentar tu horno a 350f y el tiempo que se lleva depende de tu horno puede ser entre 10 a 20 min
