How To make Baked Beef Curry with Custard Topping(Bobotie)
1 1/2 pounds ground beef, or
lamb 1 cup soft bread crumbs
1 cup milk
1 medium chopped onion
1/4 cup slivered almonds
chopped
1/4 cup raisins
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons curry powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 eggs :
beaten
1 cup milk
paprika
Mix beef, bread crumbs, 1 cup milk, 1 egg, the onion, almonds, raisins, lemon juice, curry powder (you can use 2-3 teaspoons), salt and pepper. Spread mixture in ungreased 2-quart casserole. Cook uncovered in 325 degree oven 45 minutes; drain excess fat. Mix beaten eggs and 1 cup milk; pour over beef mixture. Sprinkle with paprika. Place casserole in oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches, on oven rack. Pour very hot water, (1 inch) into pan. Cook uncovered until beef is done and custard is set, about 30 minutes. Garnish with lemon slices and pimiento if desired. Cut into wedges to serve

Hello and welcome my fellow foodies to Tony's Comfort Kitchen. This bobotie with yellow rice is a classic South African curry. Bobotie is unusual in the custard topping, but tasty none the less ????
Ingredients
1 tbsp vegetable oil
500g minced (ground) beef
1 onion chopped
4-6 cloves garlic chopped
1 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
2 tsp chutney
300ml water
2 eggs
200ml milk
2 or 3 bay leaves placed on top of the custard before baking (I didn't have any!)
Rice ingredients
200g basmati rice
3/4 tsp turmeric
30g raisins
salt to taste
water

Make this easy and tasty Bobotie for your family. The perfect meal. See recipe down below.

Bobotie
Ingredients:
500g Bolognaise Sauce
1 Onion, finely chopped
10 ml Curry Powder
5 Bay leaves
30ml Oil
100ml Seedless raisins
500g Beef mince
2 Slices bread
500ml Milk
2 Eggs
Instructions:
• Fry onions in oil till tender
• Add the mince and fry until crumbly, then add the Bolognaise sauce and curry powder
• Soak the bread in milk, then squeeze the milk out and mash the bread
• Mix all the ingredients together, except for 250ml of milk, 2 eggs and bay leaves
• Spoon the mixture into a greased casserole dish and stand the bay leaves in the mixture randomly
• Beat the remaining milk and eggs and pour over the meat
• Bake for 45 min or until the egg custard is set.
Serve with rice, some chutney and a side salad.
