Puffed Apple Pancake Recipe
Puffed Apple Pancake, also known as a Dutch baby, is a delicious breakfast treat that is sure to impress your guests. This impressive dish is easy to make and perfect for brunch, weekend breakfasts, or even a special occasion breakfast.
Ingredients:
3 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, flour, milk, sugar, and salt until well combined and no lumps remain.
In a 10-inch oven-safe skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the sliced apples and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until the apples are tender and lightly browned.
Pour the egg mixture over the apples and transfer the skillet to the oven.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pancake is puffed and golden brown.
Remove the pancake from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar and serving with maple syrup.
Notes:
Be sure to use an oven-safe skillet for this recipe, as it will go in the oven.
You can use any variety of apples you like, but I recommend using tart apples such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
This pancake is best served immediately while it's still hot and puffed up.
In conclusion, the Puffed Apple Pancake recipe is a delicious and impressive breakfast or brunch option that is easy to make and sure to please.
The combination of fluffy pancake batter and sweet, tender apples is a match made in heaven. Try it out for yourself and impress your guests with this tasty dish.

Welcome to my Kitchen! I'm Leigh Anne, the mother of four adult children and my husband and I are now empty nesters. I know the challenges of learning to cook for just the 2 of you, it feels like learning to cook all over again! After the kids left home, I found that I stopped making a lot of our family's favorite dishes and treats because those recipes just made too much food and I was tempted to eat too much!
On this channel, I invite you into my kitchen each week where we learn how to make small batch recipes with big taste. You can still enjoy all those family favorite recipes, just less of it!I look forward to meeting you in the kitchen each week with a new recipe and video.

PUFFED APPLE PANCAKE | Light & Fluffy!
#weekendatthecottage #easydeliciousrecipes #applepancakes
This lovely dish is a perennial favourite amongst kids and adults alike.
Prepare this PUFFED APPLE PANCAKE recipe and start a new breakfast tradition.
Something special happens when you serve a PUFFED APPLE PANCAKE: it always gets “oohs” and “aahs” when first delivered to the table, then things get super quiet as everyone takes those first few bites, enjoying the spiced apple flavour, crispy edges and soft, custard-like centre. Truly amazing!
APPLES – Crisp, tangy apples work best for this recipe and if I had my pick, I’d go with McIntosh or Honeycrisp. Using a firm, crunchy apple helps prevent them from getting mushy when first added to the melted butter.
TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE – Make sure you’re ready to serve this treat moments after you take it out of the oven. Call everyone to the table five minutes before the pancake is done. Place a trivet and pan-friendly serving piece next to your place setting, then get the skillet to the table “tout de suite”, before the pancake deflates!
SERVING – There’s something so charming and homespun about serving this dish right from the skillet. Finishing touches are simple – a sprinkle of icing sugar and maple syrup will be all you need. Well, you could also serve some fabulous breakfast sausages or thick-cut peppered bacon… just saying!
