Tart dough 6 md Cooking apples
-pare, thinly sliced 2 tb Lemon juice
2 tb Sugar
Prepare Tart Dough. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Toss together apples and lemon juice. Roll three-fourths of the dough into 11-inch circle on lightly floured surface. Ease dough into ungreased 9x1 1/4-inch pie plate, pressing firmly against bottom and side. Turn apples into pie plate and sprinkle with sugar. Roll remaining dough into 11x5-inch rectangle. Cut lengthwise into 11 strips, 1/2-inch wide. Arrange strips in lattice pattern on apples. Fold edge of lower crust over ends of strips. Seal and flute. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until crust is golden brown. -----

Ingredients:
Crust
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour (190 g)
1 tbsp sugar
10 tbsp cold salted butter (140 g)(1 1/4 stick)
4 to 6 tbsp of ice cold water
Filling
1 1/2 lbs. apples (680 g)4 medium apples (Use your favorite ones )
Juice and zest of half a lemon
1/3 cup light brown sugar packed (50 g)
1/4 cup raisins (30 g) soaked in
2 tablespoons of brandy
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (30 g)
1 tbsp honey
1 tbs corn starch (8 g)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Egg wash
1 beaten egg
2 tbsp sugar in the raw
Directions:
Step#1: In a food processor add flour, sugar and butter.
Step#2: Pulse until it resembles coarse sand.
Step#3: Slowly add ice cold water until dough forms.
Step#4: Remove and place on a large sheet of parchment paper. Gently form a dough.
Step#5: Add another sheet of parchment paper and roll to a circle about 14 inch across.
Step#6: Place in refrigerator for at least one hour.
Step#7: Peel and cut apples into thin slices.
Step#8: Place into a bowl with lemon juice and zest to prevent them from browning.
Step#9: Add the rest of the ingredients and fold gently trying not to break the apple slices.
Assembly:
Step#1: Remove top sheet of parchment paper. Line apples in a circle starting 2 inches away from the border of dough.
Step#2: Stack them one after the other to create a pretty design.
Step#3: Spoon over the raisins, walnuts and juice from the bottom of the bowl.
Step#4: Fold over the excess dough covering the outer edge of the apples.
Step#5: Egg wash the rolled over dough and sprinkle the sugar in the raw.
Step#6: Bake at 375°F, (190°C) for about 45 to 55 minutes depending on your oven.
Serve hot with vanilla ice cream.

*180 g butter softened ( room temp)
*1 tbsp baking powder
* 3/4 c sugar
Filling:
Fresh fruits: *2 thinly sliced apples (Pears, berries etc.)
*1 lemon
*2 tbsp brown/muscuvado sugar (You can include also the remaining juice of freshly soaked fruits)
Or For easy filling: Best also with any Flavored of Store bought Jam. Just spread evenly on top . ????
