SHORTCAKE:
2 1/2 c Biscuit Mix; Bisquick
4 oz Cheddar; Sharp, Shredded
2/3 c Milk
1/3 c Butter; Melted
APPLE TOPPING:
3/4 c Brown Sugar; Packed
3 tb Cornstarch
1/2 ts Cinnamon; Ground
1/4 ts Salt
1 c Water
4 c Apples; Peeled,Cored, Sliced
TOPPING:
Heavy Cream; Whipped Heat the oven to 425 degrees F. Combine the biscuit mix and the cheddar cheese then stir in the milk and butter. Spread the dough into two greased 8-inch layer pans and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Combine
the brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt in a large saucepan. Stir in the water and cook until clear and thickened. Att the apples, cover and simmer until the apples are tender. Spoon half of the apple mixture over one layer. Top with the second layer and remaining apples. Serve warm with whipped cream for a topping. -----

Cheese-Garlic Biscuits Recipe
2 cups Original Bisquick® mix
2/3 cup milk
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 ounces)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1. Heat oven to 450ºF.
2. Stir Bisquick mix, milk and cheese until soft dough forms. Drop dough by 9 spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Stir together butter and garlic powder; brush over warm biscuits.
Makes 9 biscuits

Classic Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
1 quart (4 cups) strawberries, sliced
¼ cup sugar
2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick® mix
½ cup milk
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
½ cup whipping cream
1. Heat oven to 425°F. In large bowl, mix strawberries and 1/4 cup sugar; set aside.
2. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk, 3 tablespoons sugar and the butter until soft dough forms. On ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by 6 spoonfuls.
3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Meanwhile, in small bowl, beat whipping cream with electric mixer on high speed until soft peaks form.
4. Split warm shortcakes; fill and top with strawberries and whipped cream.
Makes 6 servings
