Today I am collaborating with Celene, The Recipe Therapist! We are both sharing our Sausage Pie recipes! Mine is from my mother-in-law and is a crustless, breakfast casserole filled with salty meats and gooey cheeses. Tune in to Celene’s channel to see her mother’s recipe! Special thank you to Logan Family Farms for their generous gift of the Salt & Pepper sausage I used for this recipe! Visit their website:
SAUSAGE PIE 1 lb. bulk Italian sausage 1 lb. baked ham, cubed 1 lb. ricotta 1 lb. basket cheese, cubed ½ lb. provolone, cubed ½ lb. mozzarella, shredded 1/3 c. grated Parmesan 12 eggs ½ c. half & half
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13in. baking dish. Brown the sausage and drain any excess grease. Scatter the meats evenly into the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle the provolone, mozzarella, basket cheese, and Parmesan over the top. Dollop the ricotta cheese evenly over the surface. Beat the 12 eggs with the ½ c. half & half. Pour the egg mixture over the meats and cheeses. Bake for about 50 minutes until golden, bubbly, and the eggs are cooked through (there will be some grease from the cheese on top—don’t mistake that for runny eggs, but definitely check the middle to make sure the casserole has set.) ENJOY!
