July 4th Favorites: Banoffee Pie, an American pie inspired the popular British dessert
Blum's coffee shop in San Fransico, CA back in the 60s had a pie called coffee toffee pie. A British chef loved that pie and when he went back to England he opened up his own restaurant and created a version of that pie, banana and toffee were the main ingredients. He called it Banoffee pie.

Ever had a pie in a cup.? ( Banoffee cups)
Banoffee Pie, originated in the United Kingdom, is a classic dessert made using just 4 components- Pie base, cream, bananas and dulce de leche (Spanish word which translated to sweet cooked milk).
Some interesting trivia about Banoffee pie:
1)The name Banoffee is a portmanteau of the words Banana and Toffee.
2)This dish was created by Chefs Nigel Mackenzie and Ian Dowding at their restaurant Hungry Monk in East Sussex.
3)This dish was created actually to amend an American pie recipe of Coffee Toffee pie. This amended pie, later called as Banoffee pie gained so much popularity that it became a Must Try dish in their menu.
4)If you are a movie freak or a Hollywood fan, this one is for you.
In the movie Love Actually, when Juliet visits Mark to look for his footage of the wedding, she offers hmm a slice of the same Banoffee Pie.
Interesting, isn't it?
I am sure you would enjoy this version of Banoffee Pie as much as you enjoyed the trivia.

Binging with Babish: Banoffee Pie from Love, Actually
Happy holidays everyone - thank you for making 2019 the best year of my life.
Pick up my cookbook today!
Love, Actually: the film that emotionally weaponizes Christmas, relationships, love, loss, and Hugh Grant's goofball charm. Also the film that taught early 00's Americans about a great many British mainstays, including (but not limited to) banoffee pie: a sweet, sticky, toffee-and-banana-laden confection easily thrown together with some pantry staples. So how about we make one entirely from scratch - and as a special treat, let's do it wrong!
