While shooting at Woodruff’s Café & Pie Shop in rural Virginia, owner Angle Woodruff Scott mentioned that she and her family and the staff sometimes sing for their customers. At a slow moment in mid-morning, we asked if they’d sing a song for us, and they performed a family favorite called “I’ll Search Heaven For You.” We included one verse of the song in the program, but the whole song is definitely worth hearing.
Bakeries are popular places. They smell great. They are full of wonderful things to eat, from crusty breads to gooey and sweet treats. And they often become neighborhood meeting places, where bakers work hard and where people often leave with good feelings as well as fresh baked goods. 250 g flour
125g cubed cold butter
70g icing sugar
1 egg

The Magic of Woodruff
Woodruff is a delightful perennial ground cover for shady spots that also happens to hold an important place in Beltane celebrations. Let's take a look at how to grow this plant as well as some of the interesting dichotomies in its correspondences.

Sweet Woodruff Punch - sweet woodruff uses
Recipe for 1 liter
(55kcal/100g)
Ingredients:
750ml sparkling wine (750g)
250ml water (250g)
1 tsp sugar (10g)
25 sweet woodruff blossoms (20g)
½ lemon (juice) (40g)
Ice cubes
Preparation method:
- Mix the sweet woodruff blossoms with the water and sugar and cover it, leave it to rest for 24h at room temperature.
- Pass the liquid through a sieve into a glass bowl to remove the blossoms.
- Add the lemon juice, ice cubes and at the end the sparkling wine, serve immediately.
You can add some small cubes of season fruits to colour up your punch.
Preparation time: 5min
Start to Finish: 24h 5min
Shelf life:
The punch tastes best right away, you can keep the punch in the fridge for about 2-3 days (but the sparkling will be gone soon).
