How To make Whole Wheat Pasta
2 1/3 c Whole wheat flour
1/2 ts Salt
2 Eggs; beaten
1/3 c Water
1 ts Olive oil
In a mixing bowl stir together 2 cups of the flour and salt. Combine eggs, water, and olive oil; add to flour. Mix well. Sprinkle the kneading surface with the remaining 1/3 cup flour. Turn dough out onto the floured surface. Knead till the dough is smooth and elastic (8-10 minutes). Cover; let rest 10 minutes. Divide dough into thirds or fourths. On a lightly floured surface roll each third of dough into a 16 x 12 rectangle or each fourth into a 12 inch square. If using a pasta machine, pass dough through machine till 1/16"thick. Dust with additional flour as necessary. Cut and shape as desired. Makes 1 pound.

We make our first Homemade Whole Wheat Pasta with the help of our KitchenAid pasta attachments. We made spaghetti noodles and paired it with our homemade spaghetti sauce. It was delicious!

Ingredients for Pasta:
6 ounces whole wheat flour
3 ounces all purpose flour
3 ounces semolina (recipe calls for 1.5 ounces semolina and 1.5 durum flour)
2 eggs and 1 egg white
6 Tablespoons water
Mix all flour together. Beat eggs and stir water into them. Add egg and water mixture to flour and mix until all incorporated. Knead dough for 5 minutes then wrap in saran wrap and set aside for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, dough is ready.

Whole-Wheat Pasta

Serves 6
3 cups of Bob’s Red Mill Whole Wheat Flour
5 eggs
3-5 tablespoons of ice cold water
4 ounces of unsalted butter
2 ounces of extra virgin olive oil
12 finely minced cloves of garlic
1 cup of finely grated Parmesan cheese
¼ cup of finely minced fresh parsley
Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste
crushed red pepper flakes to taste
Procedures:
Sift the flour onto a clean surface and form a well. Crack the eggs into the center of the well and whisk using a fork while folding in the flour from the outside until it is completely combined.
Add water as needed to make sure the dough is not too dry and gently knead for 2 to 3 minutes. Cover with a towel and let stand for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 3 balls and roll out each ball until it becomes thin enough to see shadows of things or silhouettes through. You may need to slice the dough in half again to roll it out to the correct thickness. Layer the rolled out dough in between parchment paper and let rest for 30 more minutes.
Sprinkle 1 sheet a dough with a little bit of flour and fold over 2 to 3 times and thinly slice so that it resembles the same thickness as linguine or fettuccine. Repeat the process with the other rolled out dough sheets.
Place the cut pasta on a sheet tray lined with parchment paper and toss with a bit of flour and let rest for 30 minutes.
Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente, or slightly crunchy. Drain and cook with cold water. Coat in olive oil and set aside.
Next add the butter and olive oil to a large sauté pan and cook the garlic over low heat until it’s cooked through, about 2 to 4 minutes.
Next add in the pasta along with the Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes and toss until completely coated and hot.
Serve with extra cheese.

How to cook whole wheat pasta?
- In a pan boil 4 cup water along with 1tsp olive oil and 1 tsp salt. Add 1 1/2 cup whole wheat pasta and cook properly
How to saute vegetables for pasta?
- Heat a pan add 2 tbsp olive oil and saute vegetables of your choice - broccoli, green red and yellow bellpepper, nushrooms etc and set aside
How to make white sauce for pasta?
- Again heat 2 tbsp olive oil and saute chopped garlic. Then add wheat flour and add 2 cups milk.
Once the sauce is cook add cooked whole wheat penne pasta and the sauteed veggies.
Top with chili flakes, salt & pepper and serve this whole wheat white sauce penne pasta
