Hey there friends!
Welcome back to my channel, thanks for joining me today! I'm super excited to share with you how to make your very own homemade vanilla extract right at home! Have ya'll seen the prices of vanilla extract in the store??? Holy cow...it's sooooooo expensive! Yikes!
With how much I cook and use vanilla in my home, I could never afford the teeny tiny bottles at the grocery store that cost an arm and a leg! Amen?
What if I told you that you could make vanilla extract in your own kitchen, super cheap and with just TWO ingredients?? It's true...and the best part is the amount of vanilla you can make with this recipe will last you months if not longer.
AMAZON ITEMS USED IN TODAY'S VIDEO:
Vanilla beans: (Amazon)
All you'll need is:
4 cups of vodka
8 vanilla beans
1 quart size mason jar with a lid
Simply split your vanilla beans in 1/2 and cut them into 3-ish pieces. Place the beans in your jar and cover with the vodka. Put the lid on and allow the vanilla beans to steep in the vodka for at least 2 months but you can leave it as long as 9-12 months! The longer your beans steep, the darker & more flavorful your vanilla will be!
This is also a GREAT gift for the holidays...inexpensive, super cute in a pretty little bottle all tied up with a bow! Who doesn't love vanilla? And now you can make it right in your own kitchen...trust me, once you make homemade vanilla, you'll never buy it from the store again.
I hope you like this video. Cheers!
