How To make Treacle Scones
2 c All-purpose flour
1 1/2 ts Baking powder
pn Salt 2 1/2 tb Light molasses
2 tb Butter
1/4 c Milk (about)
Butter Molasses is known as treacle in the U.K. These scones are fragrant and chewy; very nice on a cold afternoon. Preheat oven to 400F (205C). Lightly grease a large baking sheet; set aside. Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl; set aside. In a medium-size saucepan, combine molasses and 2 tablespoons butter; stir over low heat until butter is melted. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients; add molasses mixture and milk and mix with a form to form a soft dough. Turn out onto floured surfaces. Roll out with a floured rolling pan or pat dough with your hands to form a round about 1/2-inch thick. Cut into rounds with a 2-inch fluted or plain cookie cutter. Place 1 to 1 1/2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until
well risen and golden. Transfer to a wire rack and cool 5 minutes. Split and serve warm with butter. Makes 12 to 15 scones.

Treacle Scones - British War Time Recipe
This recipe is from the 1943 March edition of Ideal Home magazine. A British publication that compiled 50 years of favorite bakes. Treacle and potato flakes were readily available in the rationed pantry and as usual, Brits figures out a way to “Keep calm and carry on” even when it came to tea time.

HOW TO MAKE TREACLE SCONES - A delicious scone recipe
Calo Mackinnon commented on my Golden Syrup Recipe that he loved Treacle scones, so after making my Homemade Dark Treacle I had to make them.
These are my Favourite Scones at the moment, they are just heavenly with that Dark Treacle Flavour running throughout.
Heaped with fresh cream and drizzled with more treacle they are perfect to give to someone you love this Valentines Day.

I love sharing my Scottish content with you all and it really touches my heart to hear how much you all enjoy making and learning about Scottish foods. Sometimes I will be gifted Scottish products to share with you all and will disclose that but my opinion is always my own and I will decide if if is something I wish to share or not. Some videos may also include a paid promotion, which is where I have been offered payment in exchange for sharing a product. I don't share items or take payment for things I wouldn't normally recommend and like to work with brands that fit well with my mission to bring Scottish food, culture and traditions to those who have an interest in Scotland.
