How to make Flautas (Assorted) (Chicken, Potatoes, Poblano Peppers and Beans with Chorizo)

Hi Everyone! Today's recipe is another Mexican Recipe! Sorry I seem to be craving a lot of Mexican food lately, I hope you don't mind, I promise, with my next recipe, I will take you all the way to Japan, so please stay tuned! For now, I will be leaving you with one of my favorites Antojito Mexicano Flautas!
They are basically a Taco, there is two main differences between a Taco and a Flauta, the first one is the tortillas. Tortillas for flautas are usually longer and thinner, however, I wasn't able to get those tortillas where I live, so I ended up using regular tortillas. The second difference is that Flautas are rolled into a cylindrical-shape to resemble a Flute.
Tacos are just folded in half, and after you cook them you can still add some filling inside them... with a Flute or a Flauta, what you cook is what you get... you cannot add any other fillings, but hey, don't be sad, you can still dip your flautas in all kinds of delicious sauces.
So Today I will be making Assorted Flautas, just the way Mama does, after 1 or 2 flautas you get tired of the same filling, so I decided to go all the way out and make 4 fillings! All very simple to make and very budget friendly... You will be able to feed at least 10 people with less than $20 dollars! You can't beat that!
Preparation time: 30-35 mins. Cooking time if frying: 5-10 minutes. Cooking time if baking: 8-10 minutes.

VLOG 46 - How to Make our own version of Poblano Omelette
What’s up everyone!!! Welcome back to another “FOOD” vlog here at JROHN TV. If you can still remember, we once featured the Deerfoot City in one of our vlog. On that episode, we went to IHop which is an all day breakfast restaurant and I tried their Poblano Omelette. It was so delicious and I can still remember how good it was till now. So, on this vlog, we will show you How to Make our Own Version of Poblano Omelette by IHop.
Before anything else, I just want to say that I really missed this cooking episode of JROHN TV, and finally after months and months of featuring so many “Experience” vlogs here in Calgary, we finally decided that it’s time for another “Food” vlog. So, we though that featuring a breakfast dish is the best way to go and the way to do that is to cook a dish inspired from a restaurant here in Alberta. So, without further ado, let’s start cooking!!!
Poblano omelette is a simple breakfast dish that everyone can make (everyday if you want to). You can find most of the ingredients inside you fridge (lol), well except the poblano chilli. It is a Mexican chilli which is dark green in colour, not as spicy as our “siling labuyo” in the Philippines. You can easily find this kind of chilli in any grocery stores, we found one at Canadian Superstore. On this video, you’ll notice that I used lean ground pork instead of shredded beef. It’s because, that’s what we have in our fridge (lol), you can definitely experiment on different ingredients if you want to, after all, this is your own version of the omelette.
The most difficult part of the process is frying the egg wrapper of the omelette, I did it twice because the first try was a disaster (lol). I though I mixed too much heavy cream on my egg mixture, but you know, try and try until you succeed, right? The rest were just adding all the ingredients including the cooked ground pork, roasted and chopped poblano chilli and all the thousand ingredients that we have! The only thing that I wasn’t able to find online is the ingredients and process of doing the special Poblano sauce. So, I decide to make my own version of it. It was really good and almost as tasty as what they have in IHop. It’s a combination of sour cream, heavy cream, tabasco and chopped poblano.
The very last step is the plating. I just used a large white plate, rested the omelette on it and added the Poblano sauce and sliced avocado and some fresh basil leaves. That’s it, my own version of a mouth watering Poblano Omelette inspired from IHop’s breakfast dish. It tasted good and spicy (how we Filipinos like it). All in all, it was an easy and tasty breakfast dish. You should try it too! And don’t forget to tell us the result. Till our next “Food” vlog everyone! Stay safe!!!

(VIDEOS) RACHEL COOKS WITH LOVE
These amazing, cheesy, crispy and easy TACOS DORADOS DE CARNE MOLIDA Y PAPA is the dish you want to prepare when in a hurry or hungry, they are hearty, delicious and they are loved by both you and old. Some know these as FLAUTAS and some know them as TAQUITOS, it all depends on the region in which you live, when I use small size corn tortillas I call them TAQUITOS. They are delicious whether filled with chicken or beef and making them cheesy will take them to a whole new level, I deep fry them till crispy and golden brown, then lay them half in a pool of homeade salsa and then top them with crema, queso fresco and let them sit on the side of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and guacamole. These TAQUITOS DORADOS DE CARNE MOLIDA Y PAPA will impress your family and friends.
