How To make Teriyaki Beef Kebabs
3/4 lb sirloin tips
Sauce: 1 c pineapple juice
1/4 c Burgundy
1/4 c teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp ginger
dash tobasco 2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
Slice meat into 3-inch strips, 1/8-inch thick. Mix all ingredients for sauce, except brown sugar and cornstarch. Marinate beef strips in sauce 3 hours or overnight in refrigerator. Drain, reserving sauce.
Weave beef strips back and forth on skewers. Brush with sauce. Preheat grill. Arrange skewers on grill and grill 8-12 minutes, turning occasionally. In saucepan; stir brown sugar and cornstarch into remaining sauce; bring to boil, stirring constantly until thickened.
Serve thickened sauce over skewers on a bed of rice.

Kids Teriyaki Beef Skewers
An easy kids recipe that also makes great BBQ food. You can replace beef with thinly sliced chicken breast or salmon cubes.
Get recipe & shop ingredients online:
Bring soy, mirin and sugar to the boil in a saucepan, simmer 8 minutes. Cool. Thread thinly sliced beef onto skewers alternating with vegetables. Place in a dish and pour over half the teriyaki sauce. Stand 5 minutes while heating grill plate. Grill, turning for 5 minutes. Serve with rocket salad mix and extra sauce.

Ingredients
1 cup Woolworths Select soy sauce
3/4 cup rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Homebrand brown sugar
500g MSA beef rump steak, trimmed, cut into thin strips
10 spring onion shallots, cut into 2.5cm lengths
1 large red capsicum, cut into 2cm cubes
12 bamboo skewers, soaked in warm water for 10 minutes
60g bag Fresh Cuts salad mix rocket
Directions:
1. Combine soy sauce, rice wine vinegar and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to the boil. Simmer for 8-10 minutes or until slightly thickened and glaze consistency. Cool.
2. Thread beef onto 12 skewers, folding each slice in half as you go. Alternating beef pieces with spring onion and capsicum. Place in a shallow dish and pour over half the teriyaki sauce. Marinate for 5 minutes.
3. Heat a lightly oiled char-grill pan or large frying pan over med-high heat. Cook skewers, turning occasionally for 5 minutes or until cooked through. Serve with rocket salad mix and remaining teriyaki sauce.
Tip1: You can add whole baby button mushrooms to the kebabs in place of the beef as a vegetarian alternative
Tip2: These skewers can also be cooked on the barbecue grill plate
Tip3: You can replace the beef with thinly sliced chicken breast or salmon cubes.
