YEAST DOUGH | SWEET YEAST DOUGH RECIPE | CAKE BASICS EP.2
The recipe for this fool proof Sweet Yeast Dough is available here
Hi lovelies, what has your experience been with making a yeast dough? Be honest :) We don´t judge here, we are here to learn together :) I can tell you I used to hate yeast dough and never made anything with it as whenever I did I got a dense dough as a result. It was very discouraging and I almost gave up. Then I decided to try and develop my own recipe and just give myself time with it and promised myself I will be patient ???? And that I must say is the key to making a perfect yeast dough for sweet or savoury treats. You want to be patient. You want to give the dough all the time it needs to raise and you also want to get to know the yeast dough. That is what I am hoping to bring your way today with this video and the extra tips that I have packed in my post over on my website to which you can find the link above ???? If after watching this video you feel unsure about something, write me a couple of lines below in comments and I will be happy to help you????

Sourdough Starter Recipe/ Guide/ Schedule
Day 1
In a glass jar with loose fitting lid stir together 50 g water and 50 g flour until smooth. Cover loosely and set aside at room temperature for 24 hours.
Day 2
Stir in an additional 50 g water and 50 g flour to the starter. Cover loosely and set aside again for another 24 hours.
Day 3
Stir in an additional 50 g water and 50 g flour to the starter. Cover loosely and set aside again for another 24 hours.
Day 4
Stir in an additional 50 g water and 50 g flour to the starter. Cover loosely and set aside for 24 hours.
Day 5
Your starter should be ready to bake with. It should have doubled in size, smell sour and be filled with lots of bubbles. If it hasn’t, continue with the feedings for another day or two.
Maintain
To keep and maintain your starter all you have to do to maintain it is to mix the same amount in weight of starter, water and flour. So, for example I used 50 grams of starter (you can use or discard the remaining starter), 50 water and 50 flour but you can do 100 g of each or 75 grams or 382 grams of each, you get the point. Feed it every 24 hours if you’re keeping it at room temperature and every 4/5 days if you keep it in the fridge.

Russian Sweet Yeast Dough
My universal Sweet Yeast Dough recipe, that's from Russia and Eastern Europe. We call it sdobnoye testo (Cлaдkoe cдoбнoe дpoжжeвoe тecтo). Soft and sweet dough pastry that's perfect for cinnamon rolls, sweet piroshki, kolaches, vatrushka buns, fruit pies and more.
This yeast dough recipe is made from scratch, without using a bread maker, although I do have a bread maker version on my website. When making this recipe, if time allows, you can proof the dough twice, punching it down each time. I only do it once because I am impatient! Everyone will love this easy to follow recipe!
This is my favorite thing, it can be used for so many recipes, or the ratios can be adjusted to your recipe that you are using by following the process. Some recipes add vanilla or sour cream, so add it in after the yeast is activated, just follow the process. I will place the video in all my sweet bread machine recipes, to give people a choice on how to make it. And it’s not only used for Slavic or Russian recipes.
I hope you enjoy my universal sweet yeast dough recipe. A classic Russian and Slavic recipe that is versatile and everyone will love. I think everyone loves homemade sweet breads and desserts
