Cook until the beans are tender, about 3 minutes. Drain off the water. Add the vinegar and margarine. Saute for 3 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and cloves. Sprinkle on the sweetener and serve. INGREDIENTS 2 Cloves of Garlic, crushed 7 oz. of Green Beans, trimmed 2 Cans of Chickpeas (480 g / 17 oz. / 3 cups) 1 Tbsp. Cornflour / Arrowroot Powder Cornstarch Brown rice to serve
For the sweet and sour sauce: 2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup 1/4 cup Tamari (Soy Sauce) 1/4 cup of Rice Vinegar 1 Tbsp. Tomato Paste 1/2 cup of Water
INSTRUCTION 1. Add the garlic to a non - stick frying pan and sauté for around 2 minutes. 2. Add the green beans and sauté for around 3 minutes or until softened. 3. Prepare the sauce by stirring together the maple syrup, tamari, rice vinegar, tomato paste, and water. 4. Add the chickpeas, sauce, and cornflour to the saucepan. Cook on a low - medium heat for around 5 minutes, until the sauce thickens. 5. Serve immediately with brown rice. 6. Enjoy!
