How To make Savory Braised Short Ribs
4 lb Beef Chuck Shrot Ribs *
10 1/2 oz (1 cn) Condensed Beef Broth
1 c Coarsely Chopped Onion
1 c Water
4 ea Whole Peppercorns
2 t Worcestershire Sauce
1 ea Clove Garlic, Crushed
1/2 t Dried Majorum Leaves
1 x Horseradish Sauce
3 T Unbleached Flour
1/2 c Water
GARNISHES:
1 x Tomato Wedges
1 x Sprigs Parsley
HORSERADISH SAUCE:
1/4 c Dairy Sour Cream
1 T Prepared Mustard
2 1/2 T Prepared Horseradish
1/8 t Salt
* Ribs should be cut into serving-size peieces. ~------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trim any excess fat from short ribs. Brown short ribs well on all sides (about 30 minutes) in Dutch oven over medium heat. Pour off drippings. Add broth, onion, 1 c water, peppercorns, worchstershire sauce, garlic, bay leaf and marjoram. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and cook slowly 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender, turning once. Horseradish Sauce. Place short ribs on serving platter and keep warm. Skim fat from cooking liquid. Combine flour with 1 /2 cup water, mixing until smooth; combine with cooking liquid, bring to a boil, stirring constantly, reduce heat and cook slowly 3 minutes. Strain, if necessary, and serve with short ribs. Garnish platter with tomato wedges and parsley. Serve Horseradish sauce with short ribs. HORSERADISH SAUCE: Combine sour cream, horseradish, mustard and salt in small bowl. Cover and refrigerate.

3 pounds Certified Angus Beef ® chuck short ribs, cut in 4-ounce chunks (2 x 3-inch each)
2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
2 teaspoons fresh cracked black pepper
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 carrot, peeled and chopped
1 celery stalk, chopped
6 ounces can tomato paste
1 tablespoon minced fresh rosemary
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
5 bay leaves
1 cup red wine
1 1/2 cups beef stock

Braised Short Ribs and Egg Noodles
Serve this to guests and they'll be blown away! All these braised short ribs take is a little prep, before they're cooked off in the oven.
INGREDIENTS
4 pounds of bone-in beef short ribs
4 slices of diced bacon
1 chopped yellow onion
1 chopped carrot
1 chopped stalk of celery
3 smashed garlic cloves
10 sprigs of fresh thyme
1 small bunch of fresh parsley
1 bay leaf
1 bottle of cabernet sauvignon
2 cups of beef stock
1 pound of cooked egg noodles
Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste
PREPARATION
In a large dutch oven, cook the bacon until crispy. While the bacon is cooking, season the short ribs on all sides with salt and pepper and once the bacon is crispy remove from the pot and sear the short ribs on all sides until golden brown.
When the short ribs are brown, remove from the pan and add in the vegetables and herbs and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Next, add in the short ribs, cover with wine, stock, season with salt and pepper, place the lid on the dutch oven and cook in the oven on 350° for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until the ribs fall off the bone.
Serve the braised short ribs on top of a bed of cooked egg noodles.
Soy Braised Short Ribs
I’ve been wanting to make this dish “Soy Braised Short Ribs”, ever since I saw it on Steve Cusato’s ( @thefoodfreakk ) YouTube channel “Not Another Cooking Show” about a year ago and my goodness am I glad I did! The depth of umami flavor that’s infused into the short ribs is nearly endless! The glaze is a little sweet and a little salty but hits all the right flavor receptors in your mouth. I highly recommend making this dish and I happen to believe it’s sophisticated enough to make for a special occasion dinner. Because it’s as impressive visually as it is delicious!
