How To make Sauerkraut Casserole
1 lb Italian sausage, mild
-cut into 1-inch slices 1 Onion, lg. -chopped
2 Apples; peeled and quartered
1 cn Sauerkraut, 27oz; undrained
1 c -water
1/2 c Brown sugar; packed
2 ts Caraway seed
In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until sausage is brown and onion is tender; drain. Stir in apples, sauerkraut, water, brown sugar and caraway seed. Transfer to a 2-1/2 quart baking dish. Cover and bake at 350F for 1 hour. Garnish with snipped parsley if desired. 500g Waxy Potatoes
125g Chopped Bacon
1 Onion

250g Sour Cream
1tsp Sweet Paprika Powder

I know what you're thinking. What???? I love sauerkraut, but even I thought this would be too much. All the flavors come together beautifully and the end result is a mild, delicious meal.
Ingredients:
1 pound of sausage sliced thin (use bratwurst if you can)
1 onion, chopped
2 medium green apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
44 ounces sauerkraut, drained
1 cup water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons coriander powder (or caraway seeds)
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, sautee sausages and onions over medium heat until onions are tender (about 5-10 minutes). Drain.
2. Transfer to a large mixing bowl and stir in apples, sauerkraut, sugar, water, and coriander powder. Mix together well.
3. Transfer to a 9 x 13 casserole dish and bake at 350F for 1 hour.
