How To make Samoosas Mince Filling
500 g Steak or mutton mince
5 ml Salt
5 ml Ground jeera (cumin)
5 ml Crushed dried chillies
-=OR=- Chili powder 5 ml Garlic; crushed
5 ml Fresh root ginger; grated
2 1/2 ml Borrie (tumeric)
1/2 bn Dhunia (coriander) leaves
- chopped 2 Onions; chopped
30 ml Freshly chopped mint (opt.)
Wash and drain mince. Braise in a heavy-based frying pan until all the liquid has evaporated, stirring to prevent sticking and lumps forming. add salt, jeera, chillies or powder, garlic, ginger, borrie and dhunia leaves. Add onions and braise until well blended and mixture is fairly dry. Add mint,if using and mix well. Remove and let cool before filling samoosas Fills about 80 samoosas. From the Cape Malay Cookbook. Ingredients:
500g lamb / mutton mince
2 large onions finely chopped and water squeezed out
1 tablespoon red dry chillies crushed
1 small bunches dhanya cut finely
1 tsp salt
1 & 1/2 ginger and garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
The above ingredients are to be used as a guideline, adjust according to your taste.

Ingredients:
Filling:
-1/2kg minced beef
-1tsp crushed garlic
-1tsp garam masala
-1/2tsp cumin powder
-1/2tsp salt
-1/2cup chopped green onions
-2 green chillies, chopped
-1bunch fresh coriander leaves, chopped
For the Wrappers:
-2cups all-purpose flour
-1/2tsp salt
-1tbsp poppy seed
-3tbsp oil
-1-1/4cup warm water

Making the potato curry to use for filling samosas - quick easy and delicious every time!
We had a few viewer requests for the recipe to make the potato curry filling I use to make my potato samosas. This quick and easy recipe is my go to for making my potato samosas
Ingredients - to make ~1 1/2 dozen regular samosas
5 medium potatoes, sliced into chips/fries
1/4 cup oil
1/2 tsp jeera
1/2 tsp hurdee powder
1 tsp salt
To be added raw to cooled curry:
1/2 onion finely chopped
Handful of:
Fresh dhania
Spring onion
Few sprigs of mint
1 green chillie (to your preference)
Cool curry, then add onions, herbs and chillie and mix well. The fill samosas as you would do for chicken or mince samosas.
