Rice paper dumplings (pan fried and air fried)
Crispy Rice Paper Dumplings are quick and easy pan-fried dumplings made with rice paper and delicious vegetable tofu stuffing!
These are vegan, super crispy, chewy, and filled with delicious Asian-flavored veggies and tofu.
This appetizer takes less than 30 minutes to make which is pretty quick than traditional dumplings. Plus they are super adaptable to use whatever leftover veggies protein you have in your fridge, and did I mention that they taste heavenly good too?

Rice Paper Dumplings
These Rice Paper Dumplings are crispy on the outside, chewy, and filled with flavourful goodies on the inside.
This recipe takes 20 minutes to make and is also vegan and gluten free.

Crispy Dumpling Skirt | Up-level your frozen dumplings
Make your freezer stash dinner a little fancier with this crispy lace skirt
Slurry for 1 batch:
- 1/2 tsp AP flour
- 1/2 tsp corn starch
- 1/2 cup water
Directions:
Heat up oil in medium-high heat
Add in the dumplings and cook until golden-brown the bottom
Stir the slurry and pour it in, then close the lid
Cook until dumpling skins look translucent, most of the water should have evaporated at this point as well
Open lid and cook off any remaining water. Once they turn a golden brown and the edges of the wings start to crisp/flare up, place a plate on top and flip them over

Potstickers Made From Scratch (Pan Fried Dumplings)
They go by many names: Potstickers, gyoza, japanese pan fried dumplings. At the end of the day they are delicious dumplings packed with loads of asian flavors, pork, and then pan fried for a crispy bottom. As mentioned in the video, you are more than welcome to use pre-made gyoza wrappers for this if you choose not to make the dough... Although, if you are super duper cool; you'll make the dough yourself.

Ingredients you'll need:
Gyoza dough-
2 cups (310g) all purpose flour
150 ml (150g) water, just boiled
pinch of salt
corn starch for dusting
Pork filling-
1 pound ground pork
1/4 head of cabbage (salted, squeezed, and drained of water)
2 cloves fresh peeled garlic, grated
1.5 inch knob ginger, grated
3/4 cup thinly sliced green onion
2 teaspoons tamari
generous salt to taste
Gyoza Sauce:
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1.5 tsp honey
2 teaspoons mirin
*optional, if you like it spicy* 1 thai chili thinly sliced

So in my previous video, I made a whole bunch of dumplings, a lot of which ended up in the freezer as frozen dumplings... which means... for the next few days... my many meals were all frozen dumplings.
Now i know, that seems boring right, to have frozen dumplings for every meal - but nah ah, not for this video, because i show you 7 new ways that you can enjoy these frozen dumplings. Much like my spam video, where i made 7 dishes out of just one can of spam, i was able to make over 7 dishes just from my batch of frozen dumplings.
Alright so these are the frozen dumpling dishes and recipes in order of what was shown in the video:
1. Steamed & Boiled Dumplings Recipe
Frozen Dumpling used: Pork & veg Dumpling
We are starting off easy, these are dumpling dishes you typically see on a menu in a Chinese Restaurant. If you want your dumplings in its cleanest and purest form, this is for ya!
And of course we gotta dip it in our dumpling sauce concoction of 1 part soy sauce, 1 part vinegar and 1 part sesame oil (can't go wrong with that)
2. Frozen Pan-fry dumplings / frozen gyoza recipe
Frozen Dumpling used: Pork & veg Dumpling
- 500ml water
- 100g flour
- 60g oil
- pinch of salt
Mix that together and use it as your dumpling batter to create the most crispy dumpling base.
3. Frozen Dumpling Soup
Frozen Dumpling used: Shanghai wonton (pork & vegetable)
Broth:
1 cup water
1 cup chicken broth
half a cup of carrots
half a cup of wambok
2 x slices of ginger
4. Frozen Dumpling Noodle Soup
Frozen Dumpling used: Shanghai wonton (pork & vegetable)
Broth (same as above)
Noodles: vermicelli - but you can use whatever you want
5. Wonton in Chilli Oil & Vinegar/ Sichuan Spicy Wonton in Red Oil
(红油抄手 - Hong You Chao Sou)
Frozen Dumpling used: Shanghai wonton (pork & vegetable)
Sauce mix:
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 clove chopped garlic
handful of spring onions & cilantro
Chilli Oil (amount to your preference)
6. Fried Wontons
Frozen Dumpling used: Cantonese wontons (pork & prawn)
tip: make sure you drop a piece of the egg pastry into the oil; once that floats to the top, your oil is at the right temp
7. Wonton Dry Noodles (wonton Lo Mein)
Frozen Dumpling used: Cantonese wontons (pork & prawn)
Soup noodles:
Broth
1 cup water
1 cup chicken broth
half a cup of carrots
half a cup of wambok
2 x slices of ginger
1 tablespoon soy suace
1 tablespoon fish sauce
Wonton Lo Mein
Sauce mix:
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce 1
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
