2 x Pita breads (6" diameter) 2 t Margarine 2 t Oregano 4 T Grated Parmesan cheese Preheat broiler. Split pitas horizontally into 2 rounds. Spread rough edges with margarine. Place on cookie sheet. In a small bowl, toss together oregano and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle over margarine. Cut each bread into wedges. Broil about 5" from heating element until crisp, about 2 minutes. Watch carefully! VARIATIONS: experiment with other herbs of your choice such as chives and parsley; or, omit oregano and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve alone or with dips or pates.

Betty's Savory Pita Crisps
Betty demonstrates how to make Savory Pita Crisps. These are pita bread triangles that are brushed with butter, herbs, and Parmesan cheese, and then baked until crisp. A great accompaniment for any dip!
Savory Pita Crisps
(Makes 24 crisps.)
2 large pita bread rounds ¼ cup butter, melted ¼ cup snipped fresh parsley (You may use 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes.) 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon onion powder ¼ cup freshly-grated Parmesan cheese (You may use prepackaged shredded cheese, if you prefer. You may also choose a different type of cheese.)
Separate each pita bread round into 2 single layers. In a small mixing bowl, stir together ¼ cup melted butter, ¼ cup fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/8 teaspoon onion powder. Brush a tablespoonful of the mixture on the rough side of each pita round. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese over each pita round. Cut each round into 6 wedges. Arrange wedges in a single layer on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees (F) for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until crisp and golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature. These are a great companion to hummus and other appetizers. Enjoy! --Betty :)

These Homemade Pita Chips are the ultimate edible dipping tool! With just a few ingredients, these pita chips are baked in the oven and come out perfectly crispy! This recipe uses 6 pita breads, which each makes 10 chips. Chris x

Homemade Pita Chips | Serves 6
????INGREDIENTS????
6 White Pita Breads 1/4 cup / 60ml Olive Oil 1/2 tsp Salt, or to taste 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
????METHOD????
Pre heat oven to 390f/200c.
In a small bowl, combine your 1/4 cup / 60ml olive oil with 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste).
Brush each sides of your pita breads. Slices into 10 triangles. Spread out on a large baking tray (or two if needed) and bake for 8-12mins, or until golden brown. Allow to cool, then tuck in with your favourite dip!
