How To make Orange Poppy Seed Cheesecake
CRUST:
1 1/2 c Grahm cracker crumbs
3 tb Sugar
1/2 ts Ginger (ground)
6 tb Butter (or marg., melted)
FILLING:
3 pk Cream cheese (softened, 8oz)
4 lg Eggs
1 1/4 c Sugar
1/2 c Sour cream
2 tb Poppy seeds
1 oz Orange extract (1 bottle)
1 tb Vanilla extract
1/4 ts Ginger (ground)
Combine graham cracker crumbs, sugar and ginger in a small bowl. With a fork, stir in butter until crumble. Press crumb mixture onto bottom and 1 inch up sides of lightly greased 9 inch springform pan. With an electric mixer, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add eggs, beating after each addition. Beat in sugar. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour cheese mixture into crust. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hr. and 15 minutes., or until lightly browned on top and almost set. Cool 1 to 2 hours. Cover and refrigerate overnight. To serve, remove pan sides from cheesecake. Garnish with whipped cream and orange slices. Cut into wedges. This Lemon and Poppy Seed Pound Cake is a flavorful cake, moist and lemony, great for breakfast time or for coffee/tea break.

Ingredients
Makes about 12 servings
1 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp (2g) salt
1 1/2 tsp (6g) baking powder
1/4 tsp (1.5g) baking soda
3 tbsp (30g) poppy seeds
lemon zest of 2 lemons
1/3 cup (75g) butter, softened
3/4 cup (150g) sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract
1/3 cup (70g) oil
1/2 cup (120g) buttermilk
Lemon Glaze
4 tbsp (60ml) lemon juice
1/4 cup (50g) sugar
1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Grease and dust with flour one 9x5in (23x13cm) loaf pan.
2. In a medium bowl whisk flour with salt, baking powder, baking soda, poppy seeds and lemon zest. Set aside until ready to use.
3. In a large bowl mix butter with sugar until combined. Incorporate eggs one at a time . Mix in vanilla extract and oil.
4. Gradually add flour mixture alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
5. Bake at 350F (180C) for about 1 hour until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
6. Prepare the lemon glaze. In a small saucepan add sugar and lemon juice. Heat over low-medium heat until sugar dissolves.
7. Use a skewer to poke the pound cake over the top and brush the lemon glaze over the warm pound cake.
8. Let it cool completely before serving.

Cake:
· 5 egg yolks
· 120 g sugar
· 90 ml milk
· 40 g flour
· 12 g baking powder
· pinch of anise
· 1/2 tsp cinnamon
· 150 g ground poppy seeds
· 5 egg whites
White Chocolate Cream:
· 300 g white chocolate
· 250 g mascarpone
· 230 ml whipping cream
· 1 tsp vanilla extract
+ 2 tbsp forest fruit jam ( don't use too sweet jam )
Bake at 170°C/340°F
Around 15-20 minutes ( Always check! )
Please don’t forget to check while baking, as you may need a shorter or longer time to bake. This is on the oven without ventilation on!

Orange Poppy Seed Muffins Recipe with Cream Cheese Icing
Macadamia oil in this recipe makes for a beautiful muffin twist. The poppy seeds and orange zest make for great texture.

Recipe ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
- 3/4 cup caster sugar
- 2 tablespoons Olivado Extra Virgin Macadamia Oil
- 100g butter, melted
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- Zest and juice of one orange
- Cream cheese icing (see recipe below) or icing sugar to dust
Cooking method:
1. Preheat oven to 190°C
2. Line two 12-hole trays with muffin baking cups
3. Combine the poppy seeds and milk in a small bowl. Set aside for 10 minutes.
4. Combine the flour and sugar in a large bowl. Add the poppy-seed mixture along with remaining milk, butter, lightly beaten eggs, orange rind and juice, and stir with a large metal spoon or spatula until just combined (do not overmix).
5. Spoon the batter among prepared muffin pans. Bake on the middle tray of your preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centres comes out clean. Remove from oven and turn onto a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature dusted with icing sugar.
Tip: If you use two trays, swap them around in the oven half way through cooking time so the muffins become golden.
Cream cheese icing:
- 50g softened butter
- 100g softened cream cheese
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 45g icing sugar
- 1/2 tsp orange zest (left over from the above)
Mix until glossy and ice your muffins. Top with more poppy seeds and orange zest.

Ingredients:
For the crust:
150 grams of cookies
4 tbs melted butter 55 grams
For the cheese layer:
700 grams ricotta cheese
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of butter
3 eggs
2 tbs of corn starch
2 tsp vanilla extract
For the poppy seed layer:
Poppy Seed filling around 800 gram
2 eggs
2 tbs of sugar
Instructions:
Prepare your cookie crust. Spray your spring cake pan with a non stick spray and line the bottom with a parchment paper.
Place your cookies in a zip lock bag and smash them until small crumbs.
Transfer into a mixing bowl and add melted butter. Stir and transfer to spring form baking pan.
Using back of a spoon or your fingers spread the cookie crumbs on the bottom of the pan and press firmly.
Bake in preheated oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.
Separate your eggs. Beat the whites until stiff peaks and set aside.
Add sugar to your egg yolks and beat until pale yellow and fluffy. Add the egg yolks to the poppy seed filling and stir. When all is well incorporated add the egg whites and fold it. spread the filling evenly over your baked crust.
Separate your eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks.
Add your room temperature butter to your stand mixed and beat it for around 30 seconds then add sugar and beat some more.
Add egg yolks one at a time beating for around 30 seconds after each addition. Add vanilla extract and mix for 30 seconds then add the cheese a spoon at a time.
Add corn starch and mix for 15 seconds. Add the egg whites in two steps, folding in gently.
Spread the cheese layer over the poppy seed layer and smooth out the surface.
Cover with aluminium foil to keep it very light coloured and bake in preheated oven to 170 degrees Celsius for one hour.
Turn off the oven and let it cool slowly with a door a bit open.
Sprinkle with icing sugar just before serving.

Preparation

Place sugar in a cooking pot.Add in cocoa and powdered sugar.Mix with gradually adding milk.Stir it until it gets thicker.Combine butter and bitter chocolate when it's thicker.You can use it as a topping after the butter and chocolate melts.Remove the cake from pan and invert onto a cake plate and drizzle the sauce over the cake,enjoy!
