How To make Old Fashioned Buttermilk Pound Cake
MARTHA WHITE'S SOUTHERN SAMP:
1/2 c Butter or margarine
-(1 stick) 1/2 c Shortening
2 c Sugar
5 Eggs
2 1/2 ts Vanilla
3 c Martha White All-Purpose
-Flour, sifted 1/2 ts Salt
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 c Buttermilk
Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar together in mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, and soda together, add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Mix well after each addition. Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted one inch from edge comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes; turn out onto wire rack and cool completely. -----

Buttermilk Pound Cake with Milk Icing Glaze
3 Cups Sugar
2 Sticks Unsalted Butter
6 Eggs
1 Cup Buttermilk
3 Cups All Purpose Flour
1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Bake @350 degrees for 1 hour
MILK ICING GLAZE
Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon Butter
1 Cup Evaporated Milk
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
1 1/2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Salt

OLD SCHOOL BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE
This is my absolute favorite pound cake to make and eat
I love the citrus lemon taste it has and of course the moist texture the buttermilk gives it
Recipe:
3 Cups Swans Down Cake Flour
3 Cups Sugar
3 Sticks salted Butter (Room Temperature)
5 Large Eggs (Room Temperature)
1 C Buttermilk (Room Temperature)
2 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract
2 Tsp. Lemon extract
1 Tsp pound cake extract
Cream butter and sugar together until smooth(about 3-7 minutes)
slowly add eggs 1 at a time
add flavors
add flour and milk (alternating )
starting with flour and ending with flour
pour in greased tube pan
Bake @325 Degrees for 1 hour 20 minutes. Check after 45 minutes. Mine was ready at 1 hour . Insert a toothpick in the center of the cake and if the toothpick comes out with batter on it leave your cake in for the complete baking time.
The toothpick must come out clean.
Let cool in pan on wire rack for 20 mins. Then place on cake plate. Make sure to cover so cake won’t dry out. A tight-fit cake pan would be perfect. Enjoy Your Pound Cake.

HELLO EVERYONE!!! Today I’m sharing a very moist and delicious California Pound Cake. This dessert can be served as a Sunday Dessert or at an Office Party or Whenever. Thanks for all your love and support. Love You!! God Bless You All!!
CALIFORNIA POUND CAKE
1 Cup Butter
1/2 Cup Shortening
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
5 Eggs
1 Tablespoon Lemon Extract
3 Cups Cake Flour or All Purposes Flour
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Cup whole Milk
Frosting
1/4 Cup Butter
1 3/4 Cups Powder Sugar
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
Bake @350 for 1 hour 10 mins
KEEP IN PAN FOR 10 minutes and then onto a plate or serving dish. Let this cake completely cool, then top with icing. Enjoy!!
Tip: Add 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Lemon
Zest to the batter if you prefer. I don’t care for it but it’s all up to you.

This is actually one of my favorites
This cake is so buttery and delicious
You actually dont need any icing on this cake
Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
3 sticks room temperature butter
3 cups white sugar
6 egg
1 cup buttermilk
Cream butter and sugar together until smooth(about 3-5 minutes)
