How To make Spiced Buttermilk Pound Cake
3 c Flour
2 c Sugar
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Salt
1 t Ground cloves
1 c Buttermilk
1 t Vanilla
1 c Margarine
4 ea Eggs
1/2 ts Soda
2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Nutmeg
1 c Chopped pecans
Cream margarine. gradually add sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients. Add alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan. If preferred, use cooking spray to prepare pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.

Buttermilk Pound Cake
Grease and flour 2 x 9 inch cake pans.
pre heat oven to 350 degrees F
This is double recipe, it will give you 2x 9 inch cakes.
6 cups S R flour (S R = Self Rising)
3 sticks butter
3 sticks margarine
1 cup buttermilk
4 cups sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. lemon zest
2 tsp mixed spice 1 tsp grated nutmeg
Beat the butter margarine and flour until smooth and fluffy. add eggs 1 ata a time and continue mixing.
Add vanilla and lemon juice and zest.
Add sugar and continue mixing.
Pour into pans and bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes.
