Butter Toffee Candy
Butter Toffee Candy
2 sticks butter
3 Tablespoons water
1 cup sugar
3 Hershey bars
Place butter, water, and sugar in a heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thick and a deep copper color; about the color of an old penny.
Pour onto a parchment paper lined, or well buttered, cookie sheet.
Break up Hershey bars and place on top of hot candy. Allow chocolate to melt. (I turn another cookie sheet upside down to cover the candy.) Spread the melted chocolate over the toffee.
Place in the refrigerator until candy cools and chocolate is hardened. Break into pieces.

Butterscotch Cheese Cake With Heath Candy Topping
Here is my Butterscotch Cheese Cake made with butterscotch pudding and topped with crushed Heath Bar Candy. Top all that with caramel syrup and YUM! It's a flavor explosion and an amazing mix of smooth and creamy filling with the added crunch of chocolate pie shell and crushed Heath candy on top. The caramel topping is the perfect finishing touch and flavor. This dish even got my 93 year old mothers seal of approval. :)
Heath Bar Cake
I’ve been thinking about this recipe for a while and I finally decided it was time to create this ooey, gooey, and very decadent Heath Bar Cake. Yes, you use the Heath Candy Bar in this recipe. (For my Canadian friends, Skor Candy Bars would be the perfect substitute if you don’t have Heath Bars available.) Heath bar cake is the perfect mix of sweet chocolate, rich caramel and the saltiness of a classic Heath Bar. Made from a doctored-up cake mix and a few simple store bought ingredients, this Heath bar cake recipe is an easy dessert that’s ready in just minutes. I have always loved a Heath Bar; I mean what is not to love, the English Toffee and the milk chocolate outer coating, mmmmm. You will see in the photos my original recipe. I can not remember where I was working when I first heard about this recipe, but I think it was my first job within the outdoor furniture industry. At that time I was in the customer service “pit”. At least that is how I refer to it, a large room with panels creating office cubicles. The term “Gophering” comes to mind. When things were slow we would all stick our heads out into the walkway like gophers coming out of their holes and chat/vent to one another. Almost all of us were young mothers. We would often discuss what we had for dinner and exchange ideas and recipes. We were a hodge podge of ladies from across the country, Wisconsin, Upstate New York, Kentucky, North and South Carolina. So it was interesting to learn of their go to meals and desserts. I think this is where I first heard about this cake. As you can see on my original recipe, if you can read my writing-most can’t, I just jotted down high points. It truly is an easy recipe and over the years I use to make this for my boys as a special treat. Oddly enough I received phone calls from both of my boys while I was preparing this cake. When I told them what I was doing they both stated their memory of this delight. It truly has been years since I have made this luscious confection and it did not disappoint my memory of this cakes decadent flavor. The finished cake needs to be kept refrigerated but don’t worry it won’t take up precious fridge space for long. The cake will be devoured in short order and if you are feeding a group it is a definite show off cake that everyone thinks took hours.
