How To make Mom's Buttermilk Biscuits
TASTE OF HOME 4/5/94:
2 c All-purpose flour
2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 c Shortening
3/4 c Buttermilk
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk; knead dough gently. Roll out to 1/2" thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter and place on a lightly greased

3-Ingredient Buttermilk Biscuits
1 cup self-rising flour
½ cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons mayonnaise (Use real mayonnaise, not salad dressing)
Place flour, buttermilk, and mayonnaise in a medium-sized bowl. Stir, just until combined. Using a teaspoon, drop dough in equally-sized portions on baking pan that has been sprayed with cooking oil spray. Bake at 425 degrees (F) for about 10 minutes, until nicely browned. Serve immediately.

BUTTERMILK BISCUITS INGREDIENTS
2 cups (300 g) all purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder (14 g)
1 1/4 tsp salt (6 g)
1 tsp sugar (5 g)
8 Tbsp (113 g) cold unsalted butter
8 fl oz (236 ml) cold buttermilk (or whole milk with 1 Tbsp white vinegar or fresh lemon juice)
2 Tbsp extra buttermilk or melted better to brush biscuit tops
BAKE @ 425 º F / 218 º C for 15 to 17 minutes
SAUSAGE GRAVY INGREDIENTS
1 lb (454 g) breakfast sausage
2 to 3 Tbsp extra cooking oil (depends on amount of fat rendered)
6 Tbsp (65 g) all purpose flour
3 cups (709 ml) whole milk
1/4 tsp to 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cracked black pepper
