Marinade: 2 cups cider vinegar 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper 4 teaspoons salt 2 Tablespoons brown sugar 2 Tablespoons chili powder 2 teaspoons dry mustard 2 teaspoons paprika 2 teaspoons toasted ground cumin seeds 2 Tablespoons honey 6 pounds spareribs 1. Combine the marinade ingredients in a large screw-top jar and shake vigorously. Brush the mixture over the ribs and marinate for 4 to 6 hours. 2. Cook on grill, burshing with sauce every 15 or 20 minutes. Serve remaining sauce, heated with the ribs.
