1/3 c Soft shortening/butter mix 1/3 c Butter, melted 1/2 c Sugar 1 1/2 ts Baking powder 1/4 ts Nutmeg 1/2 c Sugar 1 ea Egg 1/2 ts Salt 1/2 c Milk 1 ts Cinnamon 1 1/2 c Sifted flour Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottoms of 48 small muffin cups. Mix shortening, 1/2 c sugar, and egg thoroughly. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Stir flour mixture and milk alternately into sugar/shortening mixture. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown. How to make French Breakfast Puffs | Muffins that Taste like a Donut
This is a tender, delicious muffin coated in cinnamon and sugar. Its a sweet treat for a special breakfast or brunch.
preheat oven to 350°. And grease a muffin tin
1/3 C shortening or soft butter 1/2 C sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 C flour 1 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/2 C milk
Mix sugar and shorteningbutter. Add egg, mix well. add nutmeg, salt and half of flour and milk. Gently mix and then add other half off flour and milk. When ingredients are incorporated spoon into muffin tin, you can get between 8-12 muffins. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.
Melt 6 Tbsp butter, and in another small bowl, mix 1/2C sugar with 1 heaping tsp cinnamon. when the muffins are done, roll them in the butter and sugar mixture and set on a plate. these are best warm, but reheat well in the microwave.
