• 1 pound sweet Italian sausage
• 1 pound lean ground beef
• 1 large white onion, minced
• 5 cloves garlic, crushed
• 1 (28 ounce can) crushed tomatoes
• 2 (6 ounce can) tomato paste
• 1 (15 oz can) tomato sauce
• 1/2 cup chicken broth
• 2 tablespoons white sugar
• 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
• 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
• 1 teaspoon ground oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
• 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (divided)
• 1 pound lasagna noodles
• 30 ounces ricotta cheese
• 1 large egg
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1 pound deli sliced mozzarella cheese
• 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1️⃣ 00:00:23 - In a large pot over medium heat, add in ground sausage and ground beef. Use a spoon to break up the meat into small pieces. Add in onion and garlic and cook until meat is well browned, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar, fresh basil, fennel, oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper, and 1/4 cup chopped parsley. Pour in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and chicken broth. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and simmer 1-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
2️⃣ 00:03:57 - Meanwhile, place lasagna noodles into the bottom of a pan. Pour hot tap water directly over the noodles, making sure the pasta is completely immersed in the water. Let them soak for 30 minutes, then drain and discard water.

To finish, place a final layer of pasta, topped with another 1 cup of meat sauce to cover the pasta. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover loosely with aluminum foil.

Homemade Lasagna |Deliciously Fresh ????
There is nothing quite like Homemade Lasagna! I made it just as we like it and didn’t use béchamel sauce, you can make the traditional/authentic versions by adding béchamel sauce or ricotta cheese in the middle layers.
Homemade Lasagna
Ingredients
For the Lasagna Sheets:
2 1/2 cups 00 flour or all-purpose
3 whole eggs (medium)
2 eggs yolks
1/2 tsp salt
Pinch of granulated sugar
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Meat Sauce:
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 garlic clove (minced)
1 pound ground beef
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 cups tomato sauce
Salt, black pepper
1 1/2 cup water or beef broth
Fresh basil and thyme
For the Assemble:
1 cup parmesan cheese
3 cup mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Preparing the meat sauce:
In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the oil and butter. Add chopped onions and fry until soft, then add garlic and cook for another minute.
Add the ground beef and using a spoon or fork press and break up the meat and cook until the meat is completely browned.
Add tomato paste and tomato sauce, season with salt and pepper, and stir well to combine thoroughly.
Add water or beef broth, stir and bring to a simmer. When the sauce begins to bubble, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid and cook for 20-30 min until there is not much water left as shown in the Reel.
Add fresh basil and thyme.
Assembly:
Preheat the oven to 375F.
Spread 3/4 cup meat sauce over the bottom of a 9x11-inch casserole dish.
Arrange two lasagna sheets over the sauce and add another 3/4 cup of meat sauce over the sheets. Then sprinkle with parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Repeat adding similar layers with your remaining sheets, meat sauce and cheese (I made 5 layers). Top with mozzarella.
Cover with foil, and bake for 30 min. Then remove the foil and bake another 10-15 min until the top is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let rest for 15 min.
Preparing the Lasagna Sheets:
Place the flour on a work surface, add salt and sugar and make a well. Add the eggs to the well.
Using a fork, pierce the egg yolks and whisk.
Slowly move more flour from the sides to the well by moving your fork around the well and rolling up the dough as in the video.
Drizzle the oil on the surface of the dough and keep kneading for 5-6 min until it is elastic and no longer sticky. If the dough seems too dry, you can add 1-2 tbsp water.
Wrap the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 20-30 min at room temp.
Slice the dough into 4-6 equal pieces and run the dough through a pasta roller.
Repeat the same process with the remaining dough.
Sprinkle the sheets with semolina flour. Using a sharp knife cut sheet to the length of your casserole dish. Transfer the sheets to a drying rack or cooling rack and let them rest for about 10-15 min to dry out slightly until ready to use.
Serve hot!

Ingredients
Lasagna pasta sheets
1 small onion diced
3 small carrots peeled and finely diced
4 cloves of garlic minced
2 ribs of celery finely chopped
olive oil
3/4 lb ground pork
3/4 lb ground beef
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1 24 oz Passata
1/2 cup water
2 sprigs fresh basil
Parmesan rinds optional
2 Tbsp finely chopped parsley
8 oz ricotta cheese
1 large egg
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese grated
1 1/2 cup Mozzarella grated
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Preheat your oven to 375f
In a large pan over medium heat, add olive oil and once hot add your vegetables with a pinch of salt. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until softened. Then add your beef and pork. Break up the meat and cook until fully brown. Then add your tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Next, add your Passata. Add the 1/2 cup of water to the Passata jar and vigorously shake and add to your sauce. Lastly, add your basil and Parmesan rinds. Simmer for at least 25 minutes.
In a bowl, add chopped parsley, ricotta cheese, egg, salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese. Mix until combined and set aside.
To assemble.
In a large baking dish, add a thin layer of tomato sauce, then add a single layer of cooked pasta. Then add a few dollops of ricotta mixture. Next, add some more tomato sauce and spread evenly. Then, add a layer of mozzarella cheese, another layer of pasta and repeat the layering process twice.
When finished with the layers, add the rest of your mozzarella cheese and parmesan to the top of the lasagna. Bake at 375f for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let rest for 20-25 minutes before serving. Add a slice of lasagna to your plate and garnish with basil.
