In this video, raw food chef and author Jennifer Cornbleet shows you how to prepare a Classic Fresh Fruit Tart with a classic raw food crust. It's a popular raw food recipe from her book Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People Revised.
Raw food fruit tarts are delicious desserts that you can enjoy year round because you can make them with whatever fruit is in season and available. Jennifer Cornbleet demonstrates how to make a wholesome fruit tart that's free of refined sugar and high-cholesterol dairy products.
The first step is the preparation of an easy raw food crust recipe. Jennifer shows you how to combine four simple ingredients in your blender to create the crust. Then she demonstrates a useful technique and shows you how to use a light circular motion with your palm and fingers to distribute the crumbs uniformly along the bottom and up the sides of the pan. No rolling necessary for this crust!
The next step is to create a smooth, thick raw food Pastry Cream. When it's complete, Jennifer shows you the perfect tool to use so that you can layer it into your tart evenly. Then it's time to get artistic. You'll discover how to peel and cut exotic kiwifruit into delicate half-moons that you can arrange in the center of your part. And Jennifer demonstrates how simple it is to finish your piece of edible art by adding other fruits and berries to achieve maximum visual impact along with incredible flavor.
Raw food tarts are wonderful to serve for dessert or with a cup of tea for a snack. A raw food tart is also a wonderful hostess gift to bring when you've been invited to dinner at a friend's home.
