How To make Impossible Taco Pie

beef, ground

cup
onion, chopped

taco seasoning envelopes, dry
3/4
cup
bisquick
1 1/4
cup
milk

eggs

cheddar cheese, shredded
1/4
each
head lettuce, shredded
1
each
tomato, diced
1/4
cup
ripe olives, sliced
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease pie plate, 10x1 1/2, or square baking dish, 8x8 inches. Cook and stir the ground beef and onion in 10 inch skillet until beef is brown; drain. Stir in seasoning mix. Spoon into pie plate.
Beat baking mix, milk and eggs about 1 minute with wire whisk or hand beater or til almost smooth. Pour into pie plate. Bake about 25 minutes or til knife inserted in center comes out clean. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake about 2 minutes longer or til cheese is melted. Cool 5 min. Garnish with lettuce, tomatoe and olives.
FOR 1/2 RECIPE: Use 1 quart square or round casserole. Decrease baking mix to 1/2 cup, milk to 3/4 cup, and eggs to 2. Divide remaining ingredient amounts in half. Decrease beat time to 10 seconds in blender or 30 seconds with wire whisk or hand beater.

INGREDIENTS
▢ 1 pound lean ground beef
▢ ½ cup diced onion
▢ 1 ounce package taco seasoning mix
▢ 4.5 ounces can chopped green chiles, well drained
▢ 1 cup milk, I used 2%
▢ 2 eggs
▢ ½ cup Bisquick
▢ 1 cup shredded pepper Jack cheese
▢ optional toppings; salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce, olives, diced tomatoes
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Pre heat the oven to 400°F. Spray a 9-inch pie plate with non-stick cooking spray, set aside.
Brown ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat. Crumble well, drain any grease. Stir in seasoning mix and drained green chiles.
Spoon into pie plate. Using a spoon or spatula spread into an even layer.
In a medium mixing bowl, add bisquick, eggs and milk. Whisk until blended. Stir in half the shredded cheese. Pour over the meat mixture. Top with the remaining cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool 5 minutes. Run a knife around the outer edges of the pie plate before slicing. Top with your favorite taco fixings, enjoy!

Impossible Easy Taco Pie ~ Gluten Free
1-1-1/2# Ground Beef
1 small onion Chopped
Salt and Pepper
Brown meat and onion: Drain Fat
Add and stir well:
1 Pkg. Taco Seasonings (***SEE FOOT NOTE***)
1-1-1/2 cups Salsa (Add just enough to coat the meat)
Place in a greased 9 Glass Pie Plate (Spray with cooking spray)
Top with:
1-1-1/2 Cups Shredded Mexican Cheese
In a separate bowl combine:
2 eggs
1 cup Milk
½ cup Gluten Free Bisquick (Use Regular Bisquick if not on a Gluten Free Diet)
I used a Wire Whisk to combine.
Pour this mixture over the Meat and Cheese.
I placed my Pie Plate on a pizza pan to catch any drippings
Bake in a 400* preheated oven
For 25-30 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Let cool on a wire wrack before cutting and serving. This helps to hold the pie together.
Serve with:
Sliced Avocado
Sliced Tomatoes
Sour Cream
Salsa
ENJOY!!

Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Mix:
I have been using The Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Mix and have not had any issues. Products do change from time to time so its always best to read the label and check websites to make sure they are Gluten Free.
If you are concerned about Gluten, I have seen 100 of recipes to make the mixes yourself. They are all very simple to make. I just Google how to make your own mix and up popped a lots of recipes.
