CLASSIC TUNA MELT: Easy, Delicious, & Satisfying/Simple Sandwich Perfect When Pressed for Time
Who doesn't love a good Tuna Melt Sandwich? If you're pressed for time, it's the easiest, most satisfying thing you can make; which is what makes it a Classic. You really don't need a recipe for this, but if you're interested in knowing what I put in mine, I'll go ahead and list the ingredients below.
Classic Tuna Melt
1 12oz. can of tuna in water (drained)
bread (I like sliced sourdough)
chopped onion
diced hamburger pickles
mayonnaise
fresh lemon juice
fresh parsley
salt & pepper
When it comes time to grill your sandwich, I spread either softened butter or mayonnaise on the outer sides of the bread and that gives it that perfectly toasted/golden quality. I also like putting a lid over the sandwich when it's being grilled. That helps the cheese melt and ensures the tuna mixture is warmed all the way through.
Thanks so much for checking out my video. I'd love to hear what you put in your Tuna Melt (because I know we all have our own way of doing things), so leave me a comment. Thank you to those of you who also give it a Thumbs Up & Subscribe. I post one new video every week at Marcy Inspired. You can also follow me on Instagram at and on Facebook at

Healthy Tuna Melt | The Golden Balance
#shorts
Healthy Tuna Melt ????
2 cans of tuna
2 stalks celery
1/2 shallot
1 jalapeño
Parsley or cilantro
As much hot peppers to handle
1/4 cup mayo
Spices:
1 tsp paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt
Serve on multi grain bread for some fiber and toss on a tomato to keep it moist ????
Tuna Sandwich
Here's my version of the classic tuna sandwich. Tuna in oil, not water. Juice from the pickle jar adds much desired tang (oh, I use the pickles too!). Dijon for flavour, dill for lovely herbiness, celery for crunch and green onion for freshness. Spread onto your favourite bread and enjoy!
Makes enough for 4 sandwich-bread sandwiches, or 6 medium bread rolls.
RECIPE ⬇️⬇️⬇️ or PRINT:
TUNA SANDWICH
TUNA SANDWICH FILLING:
425g/ 15 oz canned tuna in oil drained
3/4 cup whole egg mayonnaise or Kewpie
3/4 cup finely diced celery (1 stalk, cut in 4 lengthways, then finely diced)
5 tbsp finely chopped dill pickle
2 tbsp liquid from pickle jar
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
3 tbsp finely chopped dill (or parsley or basil)
1/3 cup finely sliced green onion ~2 stems
1/2 tsp black pepper
SANDWICH: Bread, butter, butter lettuce leaves
DIRECTIONS:
Mix the Filling ingredients together with a wooden spoon, mashing up the tuna to make a fairly smooth(ish) spread. Bashing up the celery and pickles is encouraged. Butter bread, top with 2 pieces lettuce, tuna filling then top with bread. Eat!
PS If making ahead, put lettuce above and below filling, for soggy-bread-prevention purposes.
Tuna Melt Sandwich - How to make a Hot Tuna Sandwich
A melt sandwich (also known in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom as a toasted cheese sandwich or, toastie) is a type of sandwich consisting of bread, some sort of filling, and a layer of cheese, sometimes grated. The sandwich is then grilled or fried until the cheese is melted. It may be served as an open face sandwich or a closed face one.
One common filling is tuna, with mayonnaise; the result would then be a tuna melt sandwich. Other popular choices are ham, roast beef, chicken, turkey, or a hamburger patty, which is known as a patty melt. It is the filling that establishes the melt sandwich as a variation of the grilled cheese sandwich. Patty melts were a staple of the traditional U.S. diner and were commonly found on menus as far back as the 1950s and possibly the 1940s.
