How To make Gf Maple Bean Tarts
24 Gluten-fr.unbaked tartshells
FILLING 1 c Cooked white kidney beans
1/2 c Maple syrup
2 Eggs
1/3 c Brown sugar
1/4 c Butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c Raisins
NOTE: Gluten-free pastry made with bean flour is lower in fat than regular pastry. Combine all ingredients except raisins in a food processor or blender. Divide raisins evenly among tart shells. Pour filling over raisins, filling medium-size tart shells 3/4 full. Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling set. Makes 24 tarts. 1 tart = 131 calories, 1/2 starch, 1 fruit, 1 fats & oils choice 5

This video is divided in two sections. In the first part, you will learn how to make a gluten free chocolate tart crust and in the second part, you will learn how to make an allergy friendly egg free chocolate tart filling. Note, I used coconut in two instances, you can replace with another plant based milk and vegan butter. The only replacements I would not recommend are the ingredients that contain a starch, as they are responsible for creating a smooth and solid tart filling.

Ingredients:
200g gluten free plain flour
100g butter
1 medium egg
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
1 tbsp milk
30g icing sugar (if making sweet pastry)

In this video I make fresh butter tarts and I even make the butter from cream. So amazing.
Pie Crust
2 cups flour
3/4 cup shorting
8tsbp Cold water
Mix flour and shorting until pea sized crumbs
add water and mix until mixed. Do not over mix. Put in fridge for an hour
After chilled roll out into 1/8 thin dough.
I use a yogurt container as my cutter for the shell size
Filling
1.5 cups brown sugar packed
1/2 cup butter soften
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
cinnamon. if you like.
2 tbsp cream
1/2 cup maple syrup
mix together then add to tart shells
