Wicked Witch Halloween Tart Recipe | Sweet Tarts
Now Playing- Popular - Wicked! I recently discovered a new song that I can play over and over. It is from the Broadway musical Wicked; Popular. Defying Gravity is awesome, but Popular is so catchy. Halloween will be here in no time and I just love my green avocado, banana filling; it is perfect timing to make a Wicked Witch Halloween Tart.

Wicked Witch Halloween Tart Recipe
Make one 9 inch tart
Ingredients:
(crust)
1 1/2 cup old fashion oats
4 pitted dates
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons Earth Balance (non-dairy butter)
1/4 cup water
(fillings)
1 avocado
1 banana
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
(topping)
20 grapes
1 cup raisins
4 raspberries
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Grind 1/2 cup old fashion oats into flour using a food processor.
Process pitted dates with oat flour until small pieces form.
Add salt, cinnamon, coconut oil, remaining oats, and water to the food processor and pulse to combine (but not grind).
Spread the oatmeal mixture over the bottom and sides of a 9 inch tart pan.
Bake for 15 minutes. It should appear browned and dry.
Allow to cool before filling.
Puree the meat of one avocado, the meat of one banana and vanilla extract in the food processor to make the green filling.
Spread the filling over the tart crust.
Cut all the grape in half length wise.
Use the grapes to form the shape of the Wicked Witch hat.
Google: Wicked for playbill reference.
Use the grapes to outline the face of the Witch and to create her hair and clothing. You can get creative with this part.
Smash up the raspberries in a bowl with a fork.
Create the Witch's lips using the raspberries, but try to leave the liquid in the bowl or else her lips will run really bad.
Eat up!

Halloween Black Cat Tart Recipe
Make one 9 inch tart
Ingredients:
(crust)
1 1/2 cup old fashion oats
4 pitted dates
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons coconut oil
1/4 cup almond milk
(fillings)
4 pitted dates
1 1/2 pounds sweet potatoes, steamed soft
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup almond milk
(topping)
1 Banana
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Process together 1/2 cup old fashion oats and dates into a fine crumb.
Add the remaining 1 cup oatmeal, cinnamon, salt, coconut oil and almond milk to the food processor. Pulse to combine.
Press the oatmeal mixture over the bottom and sides of a 9 inch tart pan.
Bake for 10-15 minutes. It should appear browned and dry when done.
Allow to cool before filling.
Blend together the pitted dates, cooked sweet potatoes, and nutmeg in the food processor. The mixture may or may not be very thick depending on the water content of your sweet potatoes. If it is too thick to blend add almond milk.
Spread the puree over the tart crust gently, but not evenly. Make parallel line indentation in imitation of a pumpkin.
Cut two diagonal slices from the banana. Cut one of the rounded ends off so that the slices have on flat side. Do they look like ears? Because that is what they are. Place the on the tart where you want the ears to be sit.
Slice two more diagonals and cut out a small oval from the center of both, leaving you with 4 separate pieces. These are the eyes and the missing portion is the pupil. Arrange them as such on the cat faced tart.
Cut a slice of banana and shape it into a triangle. Invert the triangle and place it where the cat's nose would be
Slice the remainder of the banana horizontally twice so that you are left with three cuts. The main one being a 4 inch by 2 inch by 1/4 inch ish slab.
Remove small triangles from the banana slab to form the cats fangs or K-9s, then take out smaller triangles to form the cat little teeth. Place the mouth of the cat onto the tart below the noise. Be sure everything lines up symmetrically.
Use the other horizontal banana slices to make six small strips. These are the cat's whiskers and the last step of this tart creation.
