To begin, we'll start by preheating our oven to 350°F (175°C) and greasing a 9-inch cake pan. Then, we'll mix together our dry ingredients - flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt - in a bowl.
Next, we'll cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. We'll then add in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract and sour cream.
Once our wet ingredients are well-mixed, we'll gradually fold in the dry ingredients. We'll then add in chopped apples, walnuts, and pecans to give our cake that delicious nutty flavor and extra crunch.
The final step is to pour our batter into the greased cake pan and bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, we'll let the cake cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This Apple Nut Coffee Cake is perfect on its own or served with a cup of hot coffee or tea.

Cooking With Katie! Apple Nut Cake!
First actual episode of Cooking With Katie! Apple Nut Cake topped with cream cheese frosting!
I deviated from the recipe slightly as I didn't have a full 1 cup of brown sugar. I added about 1/4 cup of raw honey. I also added the walnuts to the flour mixture. It helps the nuts suspend in the dough and not settle to the bottom. Good trick with putting chocolate chips in brownies too! Thank you for watching and I hope you try this out!
