Presented by Lightlife™ | We challenged chefs of three different skill levels - amateur Stephen, home cook Gabrielle, and professional chef and cookbook author Louisa Shafia - to make us their best veggie burger. Once each of them had completed their meatless masterpiece, we asked food scientist Rose to explain the choices they made along the way - both good and bad. Which of these veggie burgers would you choose as a healthful alternative?

5 Ingredient Bean burgers
????
What you need:- ( But check the subs list)
One tin of any beans
Quinoa 200g or 2/3cups
Oats 1/3 cup or 100g
Any Spices- We used 1tsp of Garlic Granules, Smoked Paprika, Ground cumin and Chilli
Optional roll, pitta, or sandwich thin
Subs:
Beans- Use any beans you have either tinned or dried. If using dry soak overnight and add about 400g soaked weight.
Quinoa- I have only used quinoa as a complete protein plus its a gluten free example. You can use rice, couscous, millet, buckwheat so anything you have.
Oats- You need a binder to keep the ingredients together as this is egg free. We suggest using either Oats or Bread. One large slice of bread should be enough. Stale or old bread is great
Spices- Now this is a guide. As you know spice is a personal thing so you can add what your favourite's are. The herb blend i used is loved by my whole family so this is what i am recommending. The spice level in mild.
Additional:-
We always have our oats mixed with seeds so you will notice that there is seeds in this recipe. This is optional BUT it does give a good added protein boost.
Method:-
Cook Quinoa
Rinse beans
Add everything to blender
Make in to shapes
( They make good sausages or meatballs too)
Fry with Oil or Fry light for 4 minutes a side and serve.
How to Serve:-
You can make them as burgers and add a roll or in a sausage shape for hot dogs. I like them made in to balls and served with salad and potato wedges.
Tag us in once you have made them and we will share it to all our followers @trylessmeat
