Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball Recipe
Learn how to make chocolate chip cheese ball. Also often called chocolate chip cheese dip, this recipe is a wonderful cheesecake like no-bake dessert that is simply to make, cheap, doesn’t require baking and is delicious!
You can add up to 1 cup of sugar and chocolate chips without changing the ability to shape into a ball. If you add too much sugar, it becomes difficult to shape and is likely where chocolate chip cheese dip was created.
Substituting margarine is possible, but it makes it very difficult to shape due to the nature of margarine. Serve it in a bowl instead and call it a dip!

INGREDIENTS:
• 8 oz (1 cup) cream cheese, at room temperature
• 8 oz (2 cups) cheddar cheese, shredded
• 1 cup pistachios, shelled and finely chopped ( )
• ½ cup dried cranberries, finely chopped (
• ½ tsp garlic powder (
• ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional) (
• pinch of salt (
• finely ground black pepper (
• pretzel sticks, for serving
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Shape the mixture into 14 small balls using a spoon, then place them on a plate. Refrigerate until they become firm, which usually takes about 1 hour.
2. In a shallow bowl, mix together pistachios and dried cranberries. Roll the cheese balls in this pistachio-cranberry mixture. Allow them to sit at room temperature for 15 min before serving. If you're not serving them immediately, loosely cover with plastic wrap and return to the fridge.
3. Insert a pretzel stick into each truffle and enjoy!
NOTES:
1. You can make these up to three days before, store them in the refrigerator sealed in an airtight container.
2. Little pretzel sticks are the perfect accompaniment, but feel free to leave them out.
3. If you would like, use walnuts, almonds, or pecans instead of pistachios.
