Ingredients 3 each eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 cup sugar 1 cup dates 1 cup flour
Directions: Beat eggs and sugar, add baking powder, vanilla, and flour. Add the dates last and mix thoroughly. Batter will be thick. Pour into a greased 8x8 pan and bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. When cooled sprinkle icing sugar over the top and rub in until completely coated with icing sugar. Note: Can be doubled and baked in a 9x13 pan. Takes about 10-15 minutes longer. Or use candied fruit that is available at Xmas in place of the dates. To make it real fancy, use a paper doily before sprinkling the icing sugar on top.

Dog Chew Stick Danger
My neighbor keeps throwing chew sticks over the fence for our dogs but she doesn't realize that our small dogs get choked when they try to swallow big chunks that they have chewed off. We stopped giving them chew sticks because both smaller dogs get choked and we have to pull pieces out of their throat. We are afraid that we might be too late sometime when we're not paying attention. Small dogs have very small throat openings and just can't handle those chew sticks. My neighbor is just trying to be nice to the dogs, she's a dog owner too but doesn't seem to recognize the problem. Thanks for watching. My website
