Cheese Fondue
Cheese Fondue is a concept that originated in the Swiss, French and Italian communities, but gained popularity all over the world, so much that some countries celebrate a National Cheese Fondue Day! In fact, the phrase ‘melting pot of cultures’ might have originated from the Cheese Fondue custom because it is a potful that brings everybody together. A special sauce of cheese, milk, wine and garlic, the Cheese Fondue is traditionally served in a pot, into which people dip pieces of bread and devour joyfully! However, it is also perfectly suitable to serve it in small bowls as a dip for any finger food.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes.
Cooking Time: 6 minutes.
Makes 1 cup.
½ cup grated processed cheese
1 tbsp butter
½ tsp crushed garlic (lehsun)
1 tbsp plain flour (maida)
1 cup milk
1 tbsp white wine (optional)
Salt and to taste
For serving
Herb bread
Brun pav pieces
1. Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the garlic and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
2. Add the plain flour, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 30 seconds, while stirring continuously.
3. Add the milk, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes or till the mixture thickens and no lumps remain, while stirring continuously.
4. Reduce the flame, add the white wine and cheese, mix well and cook on a slow flame for 3 minutes, while stirring continuously or till the mixture thickens.
5. Add the salt and pepper and mix well.
Serve immediately with herb bread and brun pav pieces.

Cheese Fondue
Making your Christmas and New Year Party exciting. Be it family or friends, all of them will love this exotic starter. And you can have it with anything like fruit or chips or bread; apart from Garlic Bread and Potato Wedges as shown. Here is the recipe-
Ingredients :
3-4 tsp Butter
Finely chopped Garlic
Mix Herbs
Chilli Flakes
Salt to taste
Bread Slices (cut into small cubes)
Potato wedges (pressure cooked up to two whistles)
Chopped Coriander
1 tsp Plain Flour (Maida)
1/2 cup Milk
2 cubes grated Processed Cheese
2 tsp Cheese Powder (optional)
1/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
Strawberries (for serving)
Method :
Heat 1 spoon Butter in a pan
Add finely chopped Garlic
Add Mix Herbs
Add Chilli Flakes
Add Salt to taste
Add Bread Slices cut into small cubes
Toast until nice golden-brown and crisp
Transfer Garlic Croutons in a plate
Further in a same pan, add some Butter
Add Potato wedges
Add finely chopped Garlic
Add Salt to taste
Toss them and cook until crisp
Sprinkle some Chilli Flakes and Coriander
Further heat a deep base pan for Chilli Fondue
Add 1 tsp Butter
Add 1 tsp Plain Flour (Maida)
Cook until light golden-brown
Gradually add 1/2 cup Milk and keep stirring
Add 2 cubes grated Cheese
Keep stirring and add 2 tsp Cheese Powder
Turn off the heat when it turns thicker
Further add 1/4 cup Mozzarella Cheese
Gently stir the mixture & take it into Fondue Pot
Place a lit a candle below
Sprinkle some Chilli Flakes on top
Enjoy this Exotic Cheese Fondue with Potato Wedges, Garlic Croutons & Strawberries

Quick Cheese Fondue
Fondue is fun whenever you serve it. Dipping, dunking and then losing morsels of food creates a friendly and informal atmosphere among friends and family. Cheese spread and milk combine to give a thick, creamy and flavourful fondue almost instantly.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes. Cooking Time: 3 minutes. Serves 4.
1 cup milk
1 cup cheese spread
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp finely chopped onions
1½ tsp cornflour dissolved in 1 tbsp water
Salt to taste
½ tsp dry red chilli flakes (optional)
For the garnish
¼ tsp dry red chilli flakes
For serving
Toasted bread pieces
1. Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.
