2 c (12 ounces) milk chocolate ;chips 1 T Shortening 1/2 c Raisins 1/2 c Chopped slivered almonds In a double boiler over simmering water, melt the chocolate chips and shortening, stirring until smooth. Remove from the heat; stir in raisins and almonds. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper. Chill until ready to serve. From "Taste of Home" magazine, Collector's Edition. No bake cookies are a healthy alternative when you have a sweet tooth. They are easy to make and you don't have to turn on your oven and heat up your house in the summer months. They'll satisfy your chocolate cravings without blowing your diet.They are also called Preacher Cookies. Not sure why - maybe because they're easy enough to make while he's visiting!
Ingredients:

Having lived off my food storage at various times in my life, there are some things I ensured we always kept on the shelves or in buckets - ingredients for treats. Stress can be a buzz kill! And whether adults or children, sometimes you just need a little comfort food. Cow Pies was not just a favorite of mine, but also my kids growing up.
