Recipe for homemade chicken or turkey pie filling and crust (also known as pot pie) superior to most frozen pies and rivaling restaurant pies. Reduce preparation time by using leftover chicken, turkey or other poultry.

Homemade Shepherds Pie with Beef and Chicken | I Heart Recipes
Hey fam! I’ve taken shepherd’s pie up a notch with my Deluxe Shepherd’s Pie recipe. Take a look!
What’s different, you ask? Well, in addition to the beef, I’ve added chicken for extra flavor. I’ve also added cheese to the potatoes which makes them so creamy. This dish is so filling and so delicious. Let’s get started!
For the filling, cut the chicken into bite size pieces, cook and set it aside. Brown the ground beef and drain. To the beef and chicken, add in your frozen vegetables, onions, garlic, tomato sauce and seasonings. While that is cooking, make the cheesy mashed potatoes. Add the meat filling to a greased baking dish and top with the potatoes. Pop this in the oven for about an hour. If you can, try to wait a bit before digging in. Y’all know I can’t, LOL! This stuff is the bomb.com. It’s bursting with flavor, and the potatoes are so fluffy. Simply to die for. Enjoy!

0:16 - Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
0:28 - Add the chicken to heated oil in a dutch oven.
0:39 - Toss to coat and cook.
0:48 - Remove the chicken.
1:01 - Add ground beef to the dutch oven.
1:10 - Break up the meat, and brown it.
1:30 - Add in the vegetables.
1:38 - Add diced onions.
1:33 - Mix well.
1:50 - Add minced garlic.
1:59 - Add the chicken.
2:04 - Mix well.
2:10 - Pour in tomato sauce.
2:15 - Stir well.
2:25 - Sprinkle in the seasonings.
2:36 - Peel the potatoes.
2:43 - Chop the potatoes.
2:52 - Boil the potatoes until tender.
2:58 - Mix the potatoes.
3:08 - Add cream cheese and mix.
3:16 - Add shredded cheese.
3:21 - Mix well.
3:35 - Oil a baking pan.
3:43 - Pour in the meat mixture.
3:58 - Spread out the mixture.
4:06 - Add the potatoes on top.
4:20 - Spread out the potatoes.
4:38 - Bake for one hour.
4:58 - Slice and serve!

EASY Chicken Pot Pie Recipe | I Heart Recipes
Hey y’all! Chicken Pot Pie is the ultimate comfort food. If you need to get dinner on the table fast, try my easy and delicious recipe.
I take several short-cuts with this recipe to keep the cost down and to shorten the time. It still tastes amazing! Watch my cooking tutorial to see how easy this meal is.
To get things going, start with chopped onions and celery. Saute these in a bit of oil and lightly season. Add in leftover chicken, frozen peas and carrots, and a can of cream of mushroom soup. You can also use cream of chicken or celery, if you’d like. If the mixture is too thick, add in a splash of milk, any kind will do. Place one store-bought crust at the bottom of a pie dish, bake for five minutes, and then top with the chicken mixture. Top with the other crust and bake until heated through. Did you spot all the shortcuts, y’all?! This hearty, savory and filling meal will be ready for you and your family in no time. Enjoy!

Kyllinge pie (Chicken pot pie)
Der er masser af smæk på smagen i denne kyllingepie, og med 1 kylling + en masse skønne grøntsager er der mad nok til 6-8 pers.
Kyllinge pie (Chicken pot pie)
6-8 pers.
1 kylling
2 løg
4-5 fed hvidløg
3 porrer
3-4 gulerødder
4-5 stilke bladselleri
1 stor pastinak / persillerod
250 g champignoner
En lille håndfuld tørrede svampe (Karl Johan)
Frisk timian
3-4 laurbærblade
5 dl kraftig hønsefond
2 store spsk mel
1 glas hvidvin
2 dl fløde
Smør
Olivenolie
Butterdej (færdiglavet)
Læg kyllingen på brystsiden og fjern rygbenet. Dette er absolut nemmest med en fjerkræsaks. Bred kyllingen ud og skær brystbenet fri. Krydr kyllingen godt med salt og peber indvendig, og læg den så med kødsiden opad på en rist over en bradepande. Smør lidt olivenolie på skindet og drys med salt. Bag kyllingen i ovnen ved 200 grader i ca. 45 minutter.
Ryg- og brystben simres i hønsefonden under låg i en halv times tid, så den får ekstra smag. Fisk benene op, sluk for blusset og tilsæt de tørrede svampe og lad dem trække i fonden i 20 min.
Hak løgene - ikke alt for fint. Hak hvidløgene. Skær gulerødder, pastinak og bladselleri i passende mundrette stykker. Rens champignoner og halver eller kvart dem afhængig af størrelse.
Kom lidt olivenolie og en god klat smør i en stegegryde. Når det bruser op kommes løg og hvidløg ved og steger til de falder lidt sammen. Kom gulerødder, pastinak, bladselleri og champignoner ved, samt timian og laurbærblade. Steg det hele af til det begynder at blive mørt og får lidt farve. Drys melet over og lad det bage af under omrøring. Spæd med hønsefonden samt et lille glas hvidvin og lad det koge igennem til det tykner. Tilsæt fløden og lad det simre videre i et par minutter. Hvis du ikke synes, stuvningen er tyk nok, kan du jævne yderligere med lidt maizena rørt op i vand.
Når kyllingen er færdig, tages den ud af ovnen og køler lidt af. Hvis der er sprødt skind, fjernes det og skæres i små bidder, som sættes til side. Skrab al guf fra bunden af bradepanden og kom det i gryden med grøntsagerne.
Pil kyllingekødet fra benene og skær det i mindre stykker.
Kom kyllingekødet i stuvningen og smag den til med salt og peber. (Fisk laurbærbladene og timianstilke op) Kom det sprøde kyllingeskind i gryden.
Kom stuvningen i en dyb tærteform eller en smedejernspande og lad den køle af. Rul butterdejen ud så den passer som låg. Kanten på formen pensles med lidt sammenpisket æg og butterdejslåget lægges på. Låget pensles også med æg. Skær et lille korssnit i midten af dejen, så dampen kan slippe ud.
Sæt formen i en 200 grader varm ovn i ca. 35 minutter - eller til dejlåget er gyldent og sprødt. Vent gerne i 10 minutter inden pie’en serveres.
