How To make Cheesy Popover Ring
1 c Water
1/2 c Butter (or marg.)
1 t Salt
1/8 ts Pepper
1 c Flour, all-purpose
4 Eggs
1 c Cheese, Cheddar -- finely diced
Bring water, butter, salt, and pepper to a boil in a saucepan. Add flour quickly, all at once, beating with a wooden spoon until mixture forms a ball that leaves sides of pan. Remove from heat. Add eggs to flour mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition (mixture will separate as each egg is added to it). Set aside 2 tablespoons diced Cheddar cheese; stir remaining cheese into flour mixture. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls (about 11) onto a greased baking sheet to form an 8" ring, leaving a 2-1/2 to 3-inch diameter hole in center. Sprinkle
reserved cheese over top. Bake at 425 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes or until puffy and golden brown. Serve hot.

Popovers vs. Yorkshire Puddings: How to Make Popovers #popoverrecipe #neimanmarcuspopovers
I fell in love with Yorkshire Puddings whilst eating Sunday Roast Dinners in Britain. And I have always loved American Popovers. Especially the delicious Popovers from Neiman Marcus Café! I thought Yorkshire Puddings and Popovers SEEMED similar, but also different. I decided I needed to taste them side-by-side to see how they compare! In this video, I show how to make American Popovers, using a recipe that was developed to replicate the famous Neiman Marcus Café popovers. A link to the Cookbook containing the original recipe is below.
Here is the recipe summary for 12 popovers, though you might want to half recipe to make one pan:
• 3 & ½ cups whole milk (830 mL)
• 4 cups all-purpose flour (480 grams)
• 1 & ½ teaspoons salt
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 6 large eggs (at room temperature)
• Nonstick cooking spray and popover pan
1. Put milk in large Pyrex glass measuring cup or bowl. Microwave on high 2 minutes or until warm to the touch.
2. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together in a bowl and stir until combined.
3. Crack 6 eggs into a stand mixer and beat on medium for 3 minutes until foamy and light yellow.
4. With mixer on low, slowly add warm milk until fully incorporated.
5. Gradually add large spoonfuls of flour mixture until all mixed in, then increase speed to medium on mixer and mix for another 2 minutes.
6. Turn off mixer and let the batter rest for a total of an hour… but 45 minutes into the hour of resting time, preheat oven to 425° F (220° C).
7. Spray popover pan (or muffin tin) with cooking spray.
8. Pour batter into popover cups until ¾ full. If using muffin tin, only pour cups half full, and plan that the batter will make many more popovers.
9. Bake popovers at 425 for 15 minutes. Then reduce heat to 375° F (190° C) and bake for 30 more minutes, until the popovers nicely puffed up, and are dark golden brown and crispy.
