1.00 Unbaked pie shell
1.00 lb Ground beef
0.33 c Onion, chopped
0.50 c Milk
4.00 Eggs, beaten
1.50 c Cheddar cheese, shredded
0.50 ts Oregano
0.25 ts Black pepper
Brown the beef and onion together. Drain and set aside. Mix all other ingredients together, then add beef mixture. Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees. 5 cups beef broth (to boil pasta - optional)
1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
1 bell pepper
1 onion
3 tbsps chopped sundried tomatoes
1 cup cheddar cheese
1/2 cup mozzarella
1 cup colby jack
1 tbsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp beef bouillon
1 cup beef stock (added to meat mixture)
1 tbsp dijon mustard
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 cup ketchup
salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes
How to make Low Carb Cheeseburger Quiche (LCHF)
Very low in carbs, and high in fat, so this would suit a LCHF or most low carb plans -- it was easy to make and really tasty. My husband raved about it, too, and he doesn't care about low carb, so this could be a family favourite too. I followed the recipe as below, only we don't have Half and Half in Australia (it's just half milk, half cream) so I used Pure Cream which is more like whipping cream. Next time I would use a smaller pan so it is thicker (mine only took 25-30 minutes to bake but my oven is also fan-forced). I might also add more hot sauce if you like that because I couldn't really tell it was there.
Ingredients:
2 lbs (1kg) lean ground beef
1 small onion chopped
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
6 slices crisp bacon, crumbled (American style or 'streaky' bacon works best)
5 eggs
3/4 cup mayo
3/4 cup Half and Half* or Pure Cream
8 oz (226g) shredded cheese of your choice
3-4 Dashes of hot sauce (optional)
Directions:
• Pre-heat oven to 350˚F (180˚C).
• Brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain. Mix in crumbled bacon.
• Press mixture into bottom of baking dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
• In separate bowl mix together eggs, half & Half and Mayo. Pour mixture on top. Bake 40 minutes (check it at 30), let cool slightly and serve.
