How to Make BBQ Sauce I Easy Recipe to make Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce
Hello everyone and welcome to Backyard Smoke, I'm your host Jame Hogan II, today we will be making one of my favorite Barbecue sauces from scratch, Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce.
The recipe I will be showing you today is just one of the many ways that you can make it. So use this as a template and add or remove certain ingredients to make it taste how you like.
Carolina Gold is a mustard based bbq sauce that has a really tangy and sweet flavor, it goes well on almost all barbecue meats. I find it especially good on pulled pork, smoked sausage and grilled or smoked chicken.
This recipe will yield about 16oz of Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What you will need
Small or medium saucepan
Whisk
2 Cups of Yellow Mustard
½ Tablespoon of Kosher Salt
½ Tablespoon of Black Pepper
½ Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
½ Tablespoon of Cayenne Pepper
2 Tablespoons of Worcheshire sauce
½ cup of Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Cups of Honey
½ cup of Light Brown Sugar
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Directions
Pour in all ingredients into sauce pan
Whisk ingredients until BBQ sauce turns yellow
Place on stove at low heat, continue to whisk to avoid burning and sticking
Once sauce begins to simmer remove from heat
Once the sauce is cool poor into condiment bottle
I recommend letting sit for 24hrs, this will allow all the seasoning to fully mix together and all give all the flavors time to marry.
